Please no REVIS ISLAND in atlanta.... - Xanthri - 03-04-2013 12:15 AM

great player...coming off injury...wants QB type numbers....ummmmmmm NO WAY.....this would have been as bad as bringing super Mario in....and we all saw how that non-decision was really wise!

Please tell me that TD is not considering this.....unless the Jets are giving us a pick to take Revis off their hands....this would be a monumental error.

I would love to have his abilities on the team. The guy is still a shut down corner. But not at the cost he wants. If we can get him on the cheap some how, then I'm all for it.

We just dumped an overpaid 30+ vet CB why sign another?

Revis is 27, but there's no way we can get him anyways

RE: Please no REVIS ISLAND in atlanta.... - papachaz - 03-04-2013 05:58 PM

did anyone expect production out of him like he's done, when he came out of college?

how can anyone say we won't draft the next one......

maybe I'm wrong and AP type recoveries from knee reconstructions will become the norm. I know, Lynch, Ap....etc etc. but I say just stay away from it. We all saw Norwood and his problems. just please stay away from recovering knee injuries

To be fair if you are a corner getting drafted in the top 15, that kind of production should be expected. But yeah I agree people, fans mainly put players on a pedastal and this instant gratification mentality that exists means rather than have the patience to see if you can get your own guy who is like that, you want to acquire the established article because you're unwilling to wait.

Where we are picking in the draft in the first round is a difficult spot. traditionally teams trade down form here as it is prime extra pick territory doesn't cost too much to move up, the pay off for moving down to an early round pick both financially and in terms of getting an extra mid round pick has a lot of value too.

You look at the players that have been taken at 30 in draft history its hardly inspiring. It's a bit of a no man's land spot, do you take a player who fits your need but may be too early to draft them and give them more money financially. Do you trade back to the early part of the round coming and get the extra pick in the process. Or as TD has been known to do, take the guy now because he may not be there next time. He showed he was right to do so with Corey Peters. You can't stand by conventions and draft grades, sometimes you must go after the person you need to acquire the player you want rather than play games. TD learned this lesson the year we made the Julio trade, we wanted Justin Houston not Akeem Dent. He had a word with Pioli who he identified as a potential landing spot for Houston, and was trying to get a lock on whther he would draft him. Pioli told him no, however many picks later he drafted him. TD called him up about it afterwards, yeah its the business of the NFL but sometimes if that's your guy go for him if you are confident in him.

Personally I kind of feel like unless the offer is going to be 2 picks in the early portions of say round 2 and 3 a trade down may not be all that great for us as teams coming back in again at the top of 2nd to pick up their next player may feel like snagging a guy because he's a greater talent that addresses a lesser need.

LMAO, jets are desperately trying to stir up any rumors they can to shop Revis, they're claiming the falcons want him. They're just trying to get more out of the niners.
