During an important game in the second half we need the defense to step up and force the other team to punt. That is our weakness.

The lack of a decent running game made way too many close games this year. Besides our "genius" DC decided not once but twice to play the run in the playoffs when it was painfully obvious the other team was passing the ball.

When we needed them most of all our biggest defensive acquisitions Abe, Asante, Nolan all disappeared. Our offense played their asses off and only came up short because of BS non call.

Asante wasn't covering the TE's.

The number of yards gained on the ground is really not the most important statistic. There are only two offensive statistics that matter:

1. Points scored. This is the most important statistic. To improve your chances of scoring the most points in a game, you should keep the defense guessing. The best way to do that is to have the threat of a productive passing and rushing game.

2. Time of possesion. Keeping the ball lessens the chance of your opponent scoring.

In order to do well in both of those stats, you need a rushing game that is reliable. Short yardage rushing is a must.
