Jason La Canfora : Cap Casualty Season: Here Are Some Likely Big-Name Victims - atljbo - 02-05-2013 07:26 PM Link You can go to the site to see the whole list but Falcon related guys Quote:Michael Turner, Falcons ($5.5 million): He is slowing down and this team will be looking for new ways to get deeper into the postseason. Could be a financial recalibration in order with teams wary to pay big bucks to older running backs these days. Basically what we all thought..... Actuallyu ... Michael Turner will save us 6.9 instead of 5.5 of cap space since he hit that contract escalator RE: Jason La Canfora : Cap Casualty Season: Here Are Some Likely Big-Name Victims - Xanthri - 02-05-2013 07:38 PM no worries...Robinson will take a pay cut to stay (at least I think he will)....Turner would have to take a HUGE paycut especially since he will likely get suspended for 4 games for the DUI....... Turner Gone... Robinson and Abraham will find a way to become cap friendly to stay on contender! RE: Jason La Canfora : Cap Casualty Season: Here Are Some Likely Big-Name Victims - Aftermath - 02-05-2013 08:25 PM if Turner was going to get suspended it would have happened already. Robinson just restructured and Abraham just resigned, Abe only has 2 years left and Dunta only has 3, kind of running our of room for restructure. RE: Jason La Canfora : Cap Casualty Season: Here Are Some Likely Big-Name Victims - Beef - 02-05-2013 10:53 PM Dunta wouldn't get more than $2-$2.5M/year on any other team in the league right now. So I'll bet if we threaten to release him or ask him to reduce his pay down to $3M/yr, he'll have no choice but to take it. We really have all the power over him at this point. It's either renegotiate and make $3M or get cut and go make less than that. Turner is a bit different story. Some other desperate team will pay him $6M/yr for a couple more years. We won't though. Abe can probably still go some place and make what his current contract is now too, so I doubt he renegotiates and I really doubt we release him. He's our only reliable pass rusher. RE: Jason La Canfora : Cap Casualty Season: Here Are Some Likely Big-Name Victims - ggp - 02-06-2013 12:54 PM I have heard that Abe's contract was structured so that he could be released, this offseason, and provide the team with a cap savings of over 5 million. If that is the case, I guess he becomes a prime target for release. |
