Ok just read this and this one SUPER SURPRISES me...

The San Francisco 49ers were the first team in Super Bowl history to have a 300-yard passer, a 100-yard rusher and two 100-yard receivers in the game. QB Colin Kaepernick threw for 302 yards, RB Frank Gore rushed for 100 yards, WR Michael Crabtree recorded 109 receiving yards and TE Vernon Davis recorded 104 receiving yards.

this one seems VERY hard to believe.....could it really be true?

yep . The Ravens defense was gashed . Thank God for Flacco and Jones on special teams.

Ray Lewis was getting eaten alive. This pistol pete read option is here to stay

I do remember one play (and I wasn't paying much attention to the SB, so I don't remember when) where a D-Lineman ran into the backfield, saw Gore run past him, turned back around, and popped/shoved Kap in the chest hard. Ref was right there and nothing was said, even though it was really clear the lineman actually knew who had the ball.

So I still say, hit the QB hard every time on an option, and this fad will die quickly.

I saw that too. I laughed. Kap went back hard. I don't remember if he went down or not. Most of his runs seem to be designed runs or pass breakdowns. I don't see him run the option as much as advertised.

I just mean in all these superbowls no one has thrown for 300 with 2 100 yard rceivers and a 100 yard rusher? Just kind of stuns me...I would imagine most miss it because of the 100 yard rusher?

I would think it would be the 2 100 yard receivers.

See i think in a passing league the 2 100 yard receivers would be easy...like fitz and boldin with the cardinals.....
