There are a very few areas of New Orleans where I would not visit, but there are few areas of almost every city that can be dangerous. I have been to Chicago, NYC, Boston, San Diego, Orlando, Dallas and many others and New Orleans remains my all-time favorite city. RE: I knew the Saints were bitter but damn. - Aftermath - 02-05-2013 06:40 PM there are a slew of cities I would like to visit again or for the first time, Atlanta isn't one of them. This isn't a "you insulted my city so I'm going to insult yours" type of situation. I have no attachments to ATL, If I had it my way the new stadium would be built outside of Atlanta so that I don't have to worry about getting mugged every time I ride the Marta to the dome. You are once again believing a bunch of early media hype. There were TWO reported rapes in the Superdome which are two too many, but when that many people are thrown together under those circumstance it is not that surprising. There a number of reported rapes throughout the area, once again not unexpected. As for Guiness records, I would say that more Indian girls get raped every day than get raped in New Orleans in a given year. Have you been to New Orleans? Especially recently? I heard a report recently that said that 40% of the city was vastly improved as compared to pre-Katrina, while another 40% was improved and the remaining 20% still had quite a way to go. I went in the late 90's and again a few years back, but the last visit wasn't for pleasure so I didn't get to poke around all that much. RE: I knew the Saints were bitter but damn. - papachaz - 02-05-2013 09:52 PM well according to this article, they were afraid that the decaying infrastructure might fail and something just like the power outage would happen. they even hired some of NO's finest to fix it. well we all know how that went now don't we. LMAO.... and I was actually in NO back in October, spent some time in the French Qtr, the whole place smelled like piss super dome power outage RE: I knew the Saints were bitter but damn. - Drathdon - 02-05-2013 10:23 PM (02-05-2013 06:13 PM)AsylumGuido Wrote: The reason why New Orleans is such an ideal location for the Super Bowl is that there is more than enough rooms, restaurants and recreation ALL within walking distance of the game's venue. No other location better serves the crowds. Well, Las Vegas has you beat there in spades, but the NFL avoids that oasis like the plague. New Orleans is a tourist trap in a shit hole. Like all tourist traps, all money goes to making the tourists come, and the unwashed masses there make their money like parasites leaching what they can off of the visitors, be it legally or illegally. A wretched hive of scum and villainy Mos Eisley would be proud of. If you want to brag and tout your crime-soaked tourist mecca (or is it piss-soaked? You can never tell which is worse), you really need a better PR firm, since most of us have actually seen the place. New Orleans is like Jamaica. People love to go, but no one would be foolish enough to claim it was a great place. The city is already campaigning to bring the Super Bowl back in 2018 for the 300th anniversary of the founding of New Orleans. I can't imagine they wouldn't get it. Are you kidding me? Two SuperBowl's in 5 years? LMFAO RE: I knew the Saints were bitter but damn. - phocis850 - 02-05-2013 10:47 PM (02-05-2013 06:20 PM)AsylumGuido Wrote: Whatever. Fail....
