Osi Umenyiora ? - babuka - 02-15-2013 07:38 AM It is hard to find pass rushers. Falcons haven't had one outside of Abraham in years. The Falcons obviously need a boost in the interior line, a TE to help transition from Gonzalez, and another RB to split with Quizz. They could also possibly use an upgrade at SLB. But this same team with a dominant front four on the Dline probably wins the Super Bowl this year. I wouldn't complain if they drafted 2 to 4 pass rushers. Be it DE, OLB, or DT. I would sign somebody like M. Johnson from Bengals if the price is right possibly. RE: Osi Umenyiora ? - Beef - 02-15-2013 12:24 PM So TD said today on 790 that he thinks Tony is now a 50/50 shot at coming back. I'm beginning to think he's coming back. I mean why hasn't he formally announced his retirement if he were 100%? If his wife was demanding it, there's no question he would have announced by now. So you can only infer that she isn't demanding it, which also means she has to partially be ok with him coming back. I mean, $6 million is a damn nice chunk of change for 6 months of work and a fun lifestyle for a spouse. You know Tony isn't going to change his exercise routine no matter what he does. That's a part of his lifestyle and his wife digs it. So all they have to deal with is him being away from home on and off for a few months. And I'll bet his wife is ok with that for another year considering he'll easily get another $1 million raise this year. That said, if Tony comes back, we have much better options with our picks. RB/DE/DT are the first 3 picks, in no particular order, for sure I think. And possibility we make a move to get an additional 2nd rounder. A dream situation IMO would be Gio Bernard, Okafor or Montgomery, and Kawann Short. I would blow a nut if that was our top 3 picks. I hint we would need 2 2nd rounders to get that though. I think he would come back for $5M this season after seeing just how close we got to making it to the big game last season. RE: Osi Umenyiora ? - Beef - 02-15-2013 03:32 PM Oh I thought he mad $5.5m last season. Not a big deal. |
