DING DING....this was the NO call that I believe cost us a real chance at winning

The other call was the roughing the passer for incidental face mask contact...no malicious intent......that would have been 3 and out on the series they scored on.....and could have been a huge swing in momentum for us....

all that said....the Falcons turnovers especially the muffed snap....I thought that was the nail in the coffin.

But the 49ers DID NOT WIN that game.....WE GAVE IT AWAY!

Also saw something that said had we won the game it would be questionable if Ryan would have played (I am sure he would have tried) but could you imagine the let down if we had won and he truly had not been able to play....yikes!

Oddly enough that makes it a little easier to take today. I don't know how serious the injury was but it would have at least cost him a week of practice.

Per ESPN, Ryan has a Grade 2 Sprain.

Well if there is good news about a shoulder injury this is good news.

Not necessarily, did a bit more reading up and it seems that if the treatment on these types of injuries is complacent, it can lead to long term problems and even require surgery down the road.

I doubt our staff gets complacent, but these things can easily turn into big problems.

Still non throwing shoulder, I'm not worried

I can see it now....

We win
Matt can't play
Luke McCown starts and gets hurt on the first play from scrimmage
Out comes Dominique Davis
He and Quizz run the read option all the way to a Super Bowl victory
Let the QB Controversy commence! Gangnam Style

No shoulder injury is ever good. But I'd rather it be as minor as possible, which this one is, than to have to have immediate surgery and face a long road to recovery.

Well we would have been rolling with McCown in the SB. Matt would have probably tried to give it a go but you can't avoid contact to that shoulder all game it being your lead shoulder and all.
