I expect that the coaching moves will wait on Payton. As for FA losses, Scott Shanle for sure. I also expect Devery Henderson to be gone with the emergence of Joe Morgan. Will Smith will likely be a cap casualty. I have a feeling that Vilma may restructure to stick around. Turk McBride and Sed Ellis are probably gone, too. Jerod Bushrod is a FA, but the Saints won't mortgage the house on him. The Saints may also let Chase Daniel shop around. A lot of people thought, it wouldn't hurt. I have watched Sean Peyton in games, he does a lot and that's a compliment. I was one of those people.

Shanle, a starter since 2007, is a free agent and was relegated to the inactive status ever since David Hawthorne returned to the lineup. Shanle even knows as he has stated that he has very fond memories of his time with the Saints. Thanks RE: Great Season, Y'all! - AsylumGuido - 01-21-2013 11:54 AM (01-21-2013 11:45 AM)ATLBound Wrote: Ok I was seriously asking. Thanks I know. Shanle has never been a fan favorite because he isn't flashy. But, he was voted the defensive MVP by the team a couple of years back and kept the starting Sam role for four years. But, he became expendable with the signing of Hawthorne, Lofton, Will Herring and Chris Chamberlain and the emergence of Jonathon Casillas. I personally think it's PAST time for goodell to reach around there and get his panties out of a wad and go ahead and let SP get back to work. I know it's a long offseason, but there are a lot of things that need to be done over the next few months. Seems if he was willing to break his 'punishment' to let him negotiate his contract, he should be willing to let him get back to work and start working on his staff RE: Great Season, Y'all! - Swift Is a Die Hard - 01-21-2013 11:59 AM def a respectable season but we fell short of our goal . Not sure this team has it in them to achieve a championship . We will see how we respond next season RE: Great Season, Y'all! - AsylumGuido - 01-21-2013 12:18 PM (01-21-2013 11:56 AM)papachaz Wrote: well those are some names I wasn't expecting to see I guess. It has become personal with Goodell. Ellis has been totally ineffective this season and Smith is a huge cap hit and does not fit well into Spags scheme. Ellis is also thought to be the player that griped about Spags following the season. I would like to see Bushrod back, but there are several other OT's hitting the market and the Saints cannot overpay for his position. I know I've read a few people say y'all are way over the cap, how's that really? I know it depends on who stays, who goes and who restructures |
