You do understand that they are in the business of getting hits on their website, right? They are nothing but a glorified blog. Sports Illustrated is in the business of selling magazines and getting hits on their website yet they did not do their journalistic do-diligence on their cover story by I don't know contacting Stanford about the existence of this girl or looking for a death certificate. Funny thing is, according to SI, when they asked for more evidence of the girl Teo told them to not bother the family because they were sad. Weird since there was never any contact. Guess what bloggers are journalists too and they are starting to run circles around real "journalists." Deadspin has been right before and it seems pretty likely they are right here. Don't go after them for reporting their facts. RE: ND's Manti Te’o’s Dead Girlfriend Story, Is a hoax - Aftermath - 01-17-2013 05:22 PM He knew about that shit RE: ND's Manti Te’o’s Dead Girlfriend Story, Is a hoax - Aftermath - 01-17-2013 05:23 PM Unlike most of the hack journalism put out by the media the article from Deadspin was well researched and supported with evidence, not just conjecture and assumption. And very intelligent people get scammed all the time. Getting scammed is one thing. There's just way too many questions here for me to think that Te'o wasn't in on his. He said he met her IN PERSON after the Stanford game in 2009. His dad said she came to Hawaii. Ok. So he made all that up. Ok. Who in the hell was he talking to on the phone all those days and hours? And with the technology age we live in he never once Skyped with her? I don't buy that either. I know people that meet online and one of the first things they do is set up a time to Skype. But sources like ESPN and SI deserve blame too for not doing their homework. Oh and here's another thing. I heard today that someone (don't remember who exactly) that plays for the Cardinals said the same thing happened to him. Same girl with the same name and everything and he believes Te'o was in on that scam too. RE: ND's Manti Te’o’s Dead Girlfriend Story, Is a hoax - Aftermath - 01-17-2013 06:27 PM ZERO chance he wasn't in on it, ZERO! I too wonder how he could be scammed if supposedly he met her in person and she went to his home in HI, too many weird things being said RE: ND's Manti Te’o’s Dead Girlfriend Story, Is a hoax - Beef - 01-17-2013 09:57 PM I'll bet in the end of this, he's gay and in the closet and this was a cover story he helped assemble. Think about it, he has no girl at ND and he knows after a while his teamates and friends will wonder WTF is up with that. So 2 years ago he makes up a story about his GF lives in California, then 6 months later she dies of leukemia, now he can go on for another year without questions because he is grieving. That's 2 years where he doesn't have to worry about anyone wondering why he's not banging ND chicks left and right. And by the time people start telling him it's been enough time grieving, it's time to get back out there and start tapping some ass, he's graduated and on to the NFL. I'm telling you, dude is gay and this is all his doing when all is said and done. The real journalists in this case were the ones who didn't check behind on stories being given to them. Someone made a post in another forum over 20, 20! main stream media outlets didn't do their due diligence. That's pathetic! That's their job, that's what you're taught to do. Always check your facts and back them up for confirmation no matter how big or small. They didn't care to check their facts and it's sad that this is what main stream media has warped into. No more fact checking, no more sighting sources, it's all about the race to be #1 accuracy be damned. It's doesn't surprise me that Guido has no idea what he's talking about. It's a trend. If he's gay no one will ever know because he's Mormon. That will get him banned from the church. It's a possibility but there are a few more on the table. It's hard to believe he didn't know something or have some kind of involvement. Too many lies too many strings. RE: ND's Manti Te’o’s Dead Girlfriend Story, Is a hoax - Dale4Saul2Red0 - 01-17-2013 10:40 PM It's also being said by some of his teammates that don't want to be named that Te'o liked attention, going as far as always pointing himself out whenever he was on the television. |
