Is this the game Julio dominates ? - Swift Is a Die Hard - 01-15-2013 03:01 PM Michael Jenkins 2008 playoff stats @ Arizona 5 catches 51 yards 2010 playoff stats vs Green Bay 6 catches 67 yards Julio Jones 2011 playoff stats vs NYG 7 catches 64 yards 2012 playoff stats vs Sea 6 catches 59 yards We all know Julio Jones is a much better wr option but is he capable of dominating a playoff game and taking over. Torrey Smith a 2nd year wr owned Champ Bailey and got the best of him to the tune of 98 yards and 2 TDS ..We need to see this performance by Julio . He had a lot of single coverage last week and dint get the best of Browner Randy Moss - 2nd year as a pro stats in playoffs 5 catches 127 yards 1 TD 9 catches 188 yards 2 TD You spend 5 draft picks on a player . YOU EXPECT these kind of games..Not to just be a decoy to open up space for Roddy or Tony G . another wr could have done such feat RE: Is this the game Julio dominates ? - swanlee - 01-15-2013 03:11 PM Wait swift I thought you said only 3 people hang out here and this place was a joke? Seems this so called joke is your last Falcons refuge. I also expect some one who claims to be a Falcons fan to not be such a negative trolling doosh all the time but that never seems to stop you. How does you raping by coop feel? RE: Is this the game Julio dominates ? - evo - 01-15-2013 03:56 PM You need to realize we also have TG, RW, and HD as receivers. We dont need to abandon the running game either. After all, i dont see why we need JJ to have those type of game. If anything this should make it even harder to to defend us. You can't double team any of our receiver, or try to send out blizt, because Matt Ryan will pick you apart. RE: Is this the game Julio dominates ? - ATLBound - 01-15-2013 03:59 PM A lot of it depends on the gameplan. Looking at the gameplan it was obvious that the motive was to go long against sherman (no pun intended). We only threw to Browner side for screens for the most part. He also has to get the ball thrown to him so cant place the blame all on him. If two people are open then its all based on Matt's reads. Cant just throw stats and numbers out there without a background. He is doing fine. What your expectations are as a fan and what the organization's are will be totally different. In the end the Falcons traded those picks, not you RE: Is this the game Julio dominates ? - papachaz - 01-15-2013 04:01 PM (01-15-2013 03:56 PM)evo Wrote: You need to realize we also have TG, RW, and HD as receivers. I'm too lazy to check all the stats. for those other guys you mentioned swift, their rosters? pass distribution to all other personell on them, vs matt's distribution to all our other personell? I'm with evo here, kind of similar thoughtline to Nolan saying he'd rather have 10 guys with 4 sacks then to have 4 with 10 sacks......spread it around more, and it's much tougher to stop than if you're just focusing on one or two guys the pass to HD at the end of the game kinda proves that. You got their top 2 corners on our top 2 WRs, the better of who was left covering our HOF TE, and a CB who's aging and lost some speed and ability covering HD.....see how it works? AHHHHH the benefits of having a pick your poison offense RE: Is this the game Julio dominates ? - Swift Is a Die Hard - 01-15-2013 04:06 PM (01-15-2013 03:56 PM)evo Wrote: You need to realize we also have TG, RW, and HD as receivers. They have a much better front 7 and better at run defense. This is the type of game I believe Julio will need to dominate and make game changing plays if were going to win . Roddy can make the underneath stuff and Tony G will move the chains but were going to need a player like Julio take over this game and make tough catches or take a 20 yard slant for 70 yards to house. This is the the type of game imo why Julio was drafted. I thought I read somewhere that the hawks D was better against the run than the niners? maybe I have that wrong, it's possible. but I do totally agree that THIS is what we drafted JJ for. and the niners secondary isn't as big and physical as browner and sherman. I do think that we'll see more passing yards and TD's in this game than this past sunday RE: Is this the game Julio dominates ? - Beef - 01-15-2013 04:19 PM (01-15-2013 03:01 PM)Swift Is a Die Hard Wrote: Michael Jenkins The structure and connotations of your posts are so anti-Falcons it's ridiculous. Why are you like this? What is in you that makes you want to make something a negative and ignore the possitives? When you're trying to drudge up a subtle negative criticism about Julio, how can you not also acknowledge the fact that he draws double coverages which opens up lanes for 2 other top tier receivers who also happen to be on the team? And that there's not enough balls to spread around EVERY game? It's dumb to treat Julio different from TG and Roddy. To say he is supposed to have more yards and TD's than them. Or to suggest that all 3 of them should have gone for 100+ with multiple TD's. Julio got a fair and reasonable share of yards and TD's this season. Matty threw for over 4500 yards. Julio played a freaking huge role in that and was absolutely worth everything it cost to get him. We're one of four teams left playing. We've obviously done a shit ton right on offense to get here. Julio included. For the love of all that is black and red, stop doing this shit and just be normal. Are you incapable of that? Is there something in you that makes it impossible to not try to stir up shit and come across sounding like an anti-Falcons doubting Thomas? Just try it. Try to be normal and see how it goes. You might be surprised at the benefits. RE: Is this the game Julio dominates ? - evo - 01-15-2013 04:28 PM (01-15-2013 04:11 PM)papachaz Wrote: I totally agree with parts of this post. We ranked 5th in YPG rushing Defends, while the 49ers rank 4th and SHawks ranked 6th. They allowed Lynched to go over 100 yards, and 4+ avg on week 16 The key is to keep our defense off the field, and keep them fresh. While we wear down their defense, i think i've heard somewhere that they leads the league with players playing over 80% of the snaps. Haugbaurg likes to keep the same core of 8 or more defenders on the field, he dont like to substitute them. So keep on the field, be physical and wear them mofos out!! |
