I was born in Piedmont Hospital in 1966. I have been a fan of the Falcons for as long as I can remember.

I didn't care too much for football, but I'll admit it was Michael Vick who got me interested in the Falcons. It started off by how much of a video game it looked like when he played which drew me to the Falcons, and throughout each year, I started following the Falcons more closely, from knowing everyone on the roster, to keeping up with the draft, which has lead me to love the Atlanta Falcons!! Now, I could care less about Vick, and it was cool to live through a struggle/coaches walking out/bad season while still believing before we got it right with TD, Mike Smith, and Matt Ryan! Also, I loved seeing Roddy White go from his Monday Night Football Saints drop to one of the best WR's in the NFL. The future is bright and the time is now for our Atlanta Falcons!

It was 2008, i didnt know too much about football but a friend of mine had a free ticket to a preseaon game. He invited me out to see us playing the Colts. During the game, me and my friend argued about who should start the first game of the season, I was defending Matt Ryan, and my friend wanted Chris Redman. We didnt know a shit about football but still we went back and fourth for 2 weeks before they announce Matt the starting QB against the Lions.

However we both agreed on the Falcons going to have more wins than people thought we would, and we thought that Micheal Turner going to be beasting it during the season, and we were both right on those. So i felt like "Us against the World" type of thing, and it is still is. But he got a gf and barely keep up with the team anymore, while i got myself a GF then turn her into a Falcons, it is weird watching footbal game with a girl and have to hold back on my cussing. Nonetheless i got a gf willing to watch the game with me so i cant complain too much Smile

But yeah, that's how i became a die hard Falcons fan.

Being born and raised in Georgia helped but when my father joined the Falcons' coaching staff in 95 that's when I really took noticed. I was only 9-10 at the time and it was the most exciting thing ever.

After games a bunch of the coaches/players kids played football on the field while everyone was in the locker room. Got to meet a young Clay and Casey Matthews while doing so.

Awesome!!! That's very cool.

As for me, I was born in 66, 6 months later my Dad took me to the Falcons first home game ever (not that I remember, I was drinking, I suspect he may have spiked my formula), so I've literally been around since the start.

In hindsight, it was no fun lots of the time but experiencing all that losing and all that disappointment over the years has made it very easy to recognize how good we have it now and makes it very easy to not take it for granted. I saw so many great teams over the years kick our ass that it became very easy to recognize a great team. I could tell in past regimes that we had good teams from time to time but at best we were never quite one of "those teams". Well, now we are. There are no guarantees of course, and there are other great teams out there, it's still very difficult to win a title, but make no mistake, we have arrived, we are legit and will be contending for quite a while.

All this is why it's so easy for me to be positive and why those that act like spoiled brat whiners who feel entitled annoy the piss out of me. They don't know how good they have it and they need to go be Cleveland fans for a decade then we can reconvene and reasses. But even that pales in comparison to having to endure not one, but two Marion Campbell regimes.
