Greatest Thing I've read in reference for the game - RFlagg - 01-13-2013 10:33 PM Found this online, thought it was incredible, mainly because of how accurate it is compared to how I felt. Quote:I was sitting in my favorite watering hole with my wife when the 3rd quarter ended and the 4th quarter started. The conversation went something like this: RE: Greatest Thing I've read in reference for the game - Drathdon - 01-13-2013 10:57 PM Oddly enough, I know many here, like me, were thinking the exact same thing. That's why I was saying to go for 2. Even then I knew 3 td from Seattle were coming, and I wanted to make sure we had time to win the game. Only Falcon fans would be thinking about how they were going to come back after going up 27-7! That's us! RE: Greatest Thing I've read in reference for the game - AUTiger7222 - 01-13-2013 11:22 PM That's awesome! RE: Greatest Thing I've read in reference for the game - papachaz - 01-13-2013 11:49 PM I said it in the chatroom, "remember the chicago game".....that was the first one. When they were reviewing the lynch TD, I told my son in law I wished they just cut the crap and let it stand, they were leaving too much time on the clock. now don't get me wrong, I was highly pissed that we let the lead go. I mean WTF happened to the defense in the fourth qtr??? We looked several times like we just stopped rushing when we had RW boxed in, only to let him throw because we weren't continuing to pressure. I know, I know....can't let him out of the box to run. Well, if we had, I don't think it would have been as bad as letting him get those middle of the field passes that killed our lead. But damn, at least get your hands up to TRY to block the ball[/quote] RE: Greatest Thing I've read in reference for the game - RockHoward - 01-14-2013 12:32 AM When the chatroom was freaking out while the last TD was being reviewed I typed "It's not over, just sayin" and I was met with an immediate and voluminous volley of "it' over" and the like from a whole bunch of so-called fans. I mean WTF have they been watching all year (or for the last 5 years for that matter)? I told my wife "Matty plays better when we don't have the lead. I like our chances here." And so it came t pass. RE: Greatest Thing I've read in reference for the game - Aftermath - 01-14-2013 12:38 AM I've witnessed a ton of Falcon breakdowns in my life but that was definitely the worst 4th quarter collapse I have ever seen. Inexcusable, absolutely inexcusable. Because you can't realistic except it to happen every single time. The rate of successful last minute comeback wins by the Falcons under Matt Ryan is just mind-blowing. It's un natural. I called it myself.. I Said calm down folks.. we have 30 ticks and 2 time outs.. remember the Bears.. and bam ! ball game ! RE: Greatest Thing I've read in reference for the game - RockHoward - 01-14-2013 12:58 AM It just seems like that situation is Matt's comfort zone. If he ever learns to get that sharp when he already has a lead, then the league will have to look out and canton will have to build a new wing. But I have my doubts he will get there while he has a coach always pulling in his reins. Smith and Ryan will both have to get better in this regards. RE: Greatest Thing I've read in reference for the game - Nuccah - 01-14-2013 02:20 AM I was only a bit worried we didn't try to get closer with 13 ticks, but knowing Falcons football, if we tried to get greedy, Ryan would have gotten sacked. So I just put my head down, and even being agnostic, prayed. Then started laughing so hard tears were rolling down my face. Then start to freak out after that f*** up of a squib. |
