I'm THRILLED we won this game. I love my Falcons, and have my whole life.
I'm not trying to detract from the win. But I want to really *understand* what caused us to have such a terrible third and part of 4th quarter.
Anyone have a theory you can explain?

We got conservative, the biggest screw up, no Abe, we had no push and the defense could not do a lot. A lot of the issues came from that and Nolan has to get that corrected for next week, you could tell Smith didn't like the way they ended the game, Im just happy for Gonzo.

I think the same . We played great only to faulter.. typical atl but we won.

Not really sure why everyone thinks it was a case of "cockiness". It wasn't.
It was a case of not being confident and not having the experience of BEING THERE. Our players went into half time saying "wow", literally. They couldn't believe they did that. So they played to what they believed. They played like underachievers.

Now their over the hump they cant do that again, the 49ers, will make them pay. They have done it now, Now its time to understand, its your year, unless you fuck it.

That's just it. Now they will understand that they can win these playoff games. They have the experience of a playoff game. They will also understand that anything can happen and it doesn't matter what type of lead you have.
They can't do against the 49ers what they did today, if they do, the game is over. They are a much tougher team.

Yeah I had the same thought when I heard about the wow comment. I mean if we were up 42, then ok wow, but not 20.
Then it was kind of a perfect storm. They started moving the ball in big chunks using little clock, then we started making mistakes. The interception was huge. Every play by them had to work out the way it did, like the dump off to Lynch. Even with all that, a few first downs anywhere in the fourth and all we would be talking about a nice try Seattle.

I think it was being cocky. Thinking it was over and that Seattle would lie down. Im glad we were able to get a free lesson instead of a costly one

Yeah, we won, and now that the win is in the books, the way it played out today helps us much more next week than if we had stretched it out and won 41-14.
