Chris Clemons has torn ACL, Seattles Best Pass rusher - nativefalcon - 01-07-2013 06:21 PM

Now I hate hearing about any player getting hurt, but when this guy is the best pass rusher at Seattle. I'm not crying. Blew his knee out against the Redskins. Be one thing off Mattys back. Wink

The NFL's toughest scoring defense will be missing one of its most important players Sunday when the Seattle Seahawks play the top-seeded Atlanta Falcons and quarterback Matt Ryan in a divisional playoff game.

The MRI performed on Seahawks pass-rusher Chris Clemons revealed he suffered a torn ACL and other significant damage in his left knee that will require surgery and end his season, according to a source close to the player.

The surgery and rehabilitation typically takes as long as nine months.

Clemons led Seattle with 11.5 sacks in the regular season. He had two tackles against the Redskins before being injured.

While coach Pete Carroll said that kicker Steven Hauschka's strained calf seemed to be improving, the team is also considering bringing in several kickers for tryouts this week in case Hauschka is unable to play against the Falcons.

Speaking on his weekly radio show on 710 KIRO-AM Monday morning, Carroll said the team was concerned about Clemons' injury but was still awaiting results of the MRI

They were probably excited to hear that Abe got hurt too. But, now that Abe will be playing, we are +1 on the DE side Big Grin

Seahawks's defense is not as good as they are made out to be. Top scoring defense? Look at the offenses they faced all season.

Week 1 - @ ARI - L 16-20 (15.6 PPG - 31st)
Week 2 - DAL - W 27-7 (23.5 PPG - 15th)
Week 3 - GB - W 14-12 (27.1 PPG - 5th)
Week 4 - @ STL - L 13-19 (18.7 PPG - 25th)
Week 5 - @ CAR - W 16-12 (22.3 PPG - 18th)
Week 6 - NE - W 24-23 (34.8 PPG - 1st)
Week 7 - @ SF - L 6-13 (24.8 PPG - 11th)
Week 8 - @ DET - L 24-28 (23.3 PPG - 17th)
Week 9 - MIN - W 30-20 (23.7 PPG - 14th)
Week 10 - NYJ - W 28-7 (17.6 PPG - 28th)
Week 12 - @ MIA - L 21-24 (18.0 PPG - 27th)
Week 13 - @ CHI - W 23-17 (OT) (23.4 PPG - 16th)
Week 14 - ARI - W 58-0 (15.6 PPG - 31st)
Week 15 - @ BUF W 50-17 (21.5 PPG - 21st)
Week 16 - SF - W 42-13 (24.8 PPG - 11th)
Week 17 - STL - W 20-13 (18.7 PPG - 25th)

They had 7 games against offenses that finished 20th or worst in points per game. They had 11 games against teams that finished 15th or worst in points per game. Color me unimpressed.

They also lost to Miami and to Detroit

I know one thing they keep talking about Sherman and Browner, They have never faced JJ and Roddy or the likes of them with a good QB, Who are just as big as them and JJ could probably outrun both of them. Plus, Gonzo, Harry D and Turner, Quizz and Snelling. Matty will have plenty of targets. Smile

And the only reason why they won that GB game was the shitty refs, to me that's a loss.

They faced JJ and Roddy last year and both lit them up, especially Julio.

Ryan - 28/42 (66.7%), 291 YDS (6.9), 1 TD, 0 INT
Julio - 11 REC, 127 YDS
Roddy - 6 REC, 78 YDS
Tony G - 7 REC, 56 YDS, 1 TD

That was on their field too!

That was also when JJ was a rookie, hes gotten tons better, and being at home and the seahawks haven't played in our arena in a while. It will be interesting. Wink

I don't get how some people seem to think the Seahawks will be able to easily contain Julio, Roddy, and Gonzo 1 on 1 for 4 quarters.

I mean, they contained Megatron and got beasted on by Titus Young.
Got lit up by Marshall.
Got lit up by Welker.
Got lit up by Bess.

The NFLPA ought to sue Washington for all the knees their shitty field is costing the players! I'd refuse to play in such a deathtrap for careers!

We did, but we got lucky, there are two ways about it, grass fields are better, unless they are kept up shittily like washingtons, I remember one playoff game, Colts and pats. It was supposed to rain on the day of the game, and Bill Bellicheck, told the field keeper to leave the sprinklers on for 3 days before the game, all day. So the day of the game, it was a swamp and its how the pats beat the colts.

Then you got the flip side, Arizona, they can move their grass field in the sunshine and keep it nice, and move it back in on game days and use that area for parking. Which is what I wish they do for the falcons fields.

But I agree we got lucky as shit, none of our players got hurt in Washington. Wink Its bad enough with our field turf to ACL someones legs. Sad
