I don't recall them ever scheduling a Monday night game for a team and then a Thursday night game. Teams have actually had Monday games after having TNF games which is stupid. The Packers started the season with Sunday, Thursday and then Monday games. But every game this year played on Thursday sucked, they were poorly played cause of lack of preparation and fatigue. And it's a huge injury risk, is having football on Thursday worth the strain on the players? I don't think so. Everyone worries about concussions and other injuries but wants more games and games on Thursday. You can't have both. The Texans played on the 11th against the bears had an overtime game on the next Sunday (the 18th vs. the jaguars) followed by an overtime that Thursday (the 22nd against the lions) That's 3 games (2 overtime) in 11 days. That's insane, if it had been the Falcons we would've been tripping about it. Do away with Thursday games, we'll survive without Cardinals vs. Rams, Colts vs. Jaguars, or Chiefs vs. Chargers. These were three of our Thursday night games this year. Browns vs. Ravens, Dolphins vs. Bills, Bengals vs. Eagles, and Steelers vs. Titans are some others. Even us vs. the Saints was poorly played by both offenses. We won't miss those games I promise, the only people that will are the owners. Blank ain't bad but a lot of them are greedy and Goodell ain't too good himself. RE: Thanksgiving Games - juraitwaluzka - 12-27-2012 12:44 AM All well and good, but it doesn't really matter, it's not going to change. If they would have the bye week before the TNF games then they could schedule better matchups. RE: Thanksgiving Games - FireDawg85 - 12-27-2012 01:32 AM They should change it from thursday to friday and call it "NFL Friday Night Lights" RE: Thanksgiving Games - phocis850 - 12-27-2012 01:50 AM (12-27-2012 12:59 AM)AUTiger7222 Wrote: The reason there are bad matchups on TNF games is because they are usually division games to limit travel. We all know how epic those Chiefs/Chargers, Bengals/Browns and Rams/Cardinals games have been over the years. Good one. :/ RE: Thanksgiving Games - AUTiger7222 - 12-27-2012 02:43 AM (12-27-2012 02:18 AM)phocis850 Wrote: So you pick the worst rivalries to make your point? Good one. :/ The Falcons/Saints have a great rivalry and the games are almost always exciting. How did that game turn out? The NFL game wasn't very good offensively. The TNF games tend to be very sloppy offensively for both teams. It's because the teams don't have enough time to prepare for the game. It's because the teams don't have enough time to prepare for the game. Like I said earlier. Get rid of them. In my opinion anyways. This is a tough game physically and just as tough mentally. The players don't need to get thrown off of their routine (which I think is important to them) just so the NFL can have a cash grab. There's just not a good enough reason to have a Thursday game every week. Two or three isn't bad but 17??? The fans can wait an extra 3 days to see a game. Especially when almost EVERY single game was poorly played. It's just stupid to have them to me. |
