RE: Post Game Press Conference - Drathdon - 12-11-2012 01:53 AM

Yesterday did not matter. It didn't.
We beat the Giants, people will claim we're ready to roll.
We win in the playoffs (AND WE WILL), people will say "what did you expect with such a great team?"

NO ONE will mention this game ever again after this week, and they would not have if we had won it either.

Wish the players didn't know that, but they did, and played like it.

Every game they go out there and fight to win, the media (and some fans, ouch) say "nothing matters but the playoffs!"
So... the team finally took it to heart and played like it.

People are whining now who said only the playoffs matter. The team would like everyone to make up their mind.

And we WILL WIN in the playoffs. When we do, I'd like those posters who are so upset now to please make threads then entitled "But What About the Panther Game? This Team Sucks!"

This. Love it, I mean are we in on this team or out? Piss on the panthers, they were embarrassingly jacked for that game. Too bad they couldn't care that much all season. Like you said all year it's playoffs playoffs playoffs. Now it's win every regular season game convincingly. C'mon guys, lets just cheer for our team! If we had to pull for the chiefs or something it seems like this board would be empty the way y'all are acting after one loss. This is nuts that these conversations are even happening.

My lasts words on this are how short some people's memories are. To say this team doesn't get jacked up about playing. Explain both games against New Orleans or the emotion and fire against Philly. It's going to happen you are going to catch fire at times and keep your head in others. You don't realise but this is exactly what Gonzalez is referring to when he talks about fans jumping off. It's one thing to be constructively critical. But I've seen so much I'll thought out sphincter spew for opinions on here over this that I am more than disappointed. I am far from happy that we lost. But I understand and accept that it happens. It would have been great to display the demeanour that we did and beat the panthers as jacked up as they were. To take all of that hate and energy the had and turn it back on them watch them pick and fight amongst themselves, but teams can't always elevate to that level. Look at the Patriots when they faced the Seahawks. They were getting shit talked until kingdom come before during and after that game. They didn't try and play to that level. You have to play to your own in your own way with your own intensity. Otherwise you aren't playing your game.

This Falcons team doesn't have the same gameplan or rhythm week to week. Especially on Offense. They switch it up a lot we have come out and ball controlled. We have come out an quick striked and we have come out and laid an egg and gone 3 and out but the tempo changes are pretty decisive when the occur.

Again, you want a public coach find one and support him. If you want the right guy for building something in Atlanta accept that he is already here and knows how to handle his players. The guy got criticised for chewing Asante Samuel out after an int. right after it had happened and cost us field position. But you want him to show some passion or some fire in a press conference to satisfy what? Feelings? It changes nothing about the game for him, for the players or for the fans, nah go back to the locker room, back to the branch and get ready to prove it against the giants.

Perfectly put man.

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around people saying yesterday's game didn't matter. How did it not matter?

How does that ONE game matter in the grand scheme of things? We are already playoff bound.

I thought everyone wanted the #1 seed. Sorry but #1 seed isn't locked up yet.

But whatever. Sorry if somehow I hate seeing the Falcons get embarrassed against a division opponent and then come on here and have people tell me the game doesn't mean anything.

YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME! HELLO?!

Re: Post Game Press Conference - juraitwaluzka - 12-11-2012 03:39 PM

When the season is over and we have home field advantage then in hindsight this loss will not have mattered, I believe that is what he meant by in the grand scheme of things. I agree,I still think we end up with home field and if we can't win two out of the next three then we don't deserve it.

So pride doesn't matter either? Letting the Panthers talk shit all week and them embarrass us is ok?

Hey whatever. Sorry but I'll never accept any loss laying down the way the Falcons did on Sunday.

This is the last post I will make on Sunday's game. It's Tuesday. Time to move on.

Panthers are decent when Cam is. They have just been a few plays away from .500.

I swear that Jedi is using some mind tricks on you.
We are IN the playoffs. Yes, seeding would be awesome, but really are full focus is our first playoff game. Staying healthy and working on specifics are what we need to do.

However, I want to punch the Giants in the mouth next Sunday. I bet the players and coaches have this game marked as THE final game to play lights out this year. This game will show how ready we are.
