We need to draft some back up safeties this year or pick up some better back up quality guys. Yeesh Chris Hope looked a shadow of himself out there. RE: Man, the fans are nearly pathetic right now. - AUTiger7222 - 12-09-2012 11:28 PM I never declared the season over. Just saying they played like it was the 2010 and 2011 playoff game out there today. That was a total embarrassment. From the first play the defense wasn't didn't show up and the offense could never get anything going because they get the ball. Hard for the offense to get into a groove when they have to sit for 15-20 minutes of real time between possessions as what happened in the 1st half. RE: Man, the fans are nearly pathetic right now. - Drathdon - 12-09-2012 11:33 PM We're not playing for anything right now. Hard to get fired up over nothing. Panties were playing for their jobs. We played not to get hurt. Looking at the schedule, we want to win next week, not this week. This week means nothing if we win next week. So the guys looked ahead. With 11 wins, I'll allow that. So long as they win next week, people will be talking us up, and this game won't matter. Even if we won today, we lose next week this one won't matter. Essentially, this game didn't matter. We played like it. Big deal. Let's get that win next week against the defending champs, and rest until the playoffs! RE: Man, the fans are nearly pathetic right now. - Xanthri - 12-10-2012 01:36 AM I just hope we learn from this embarrassment and find some kind of motivation going into the playoffs...because right now...we look BAD!....second half offense was better but those two long plays....should not happen at this point of the season...our defense has been humming but our offense has sputtered and got off to slow starts where mistakes cannot be made..... Am I worried, yes and no.....I no we will lock up number one...I am worried about us taking time off and losing our focus....that is what happen today we did not take this game serious.....and it showed!! If we don't find something to motivate us and gain momentum....we will be one and done....look at the seahawks....we have a better offense then they do but we can't seem to put 58 points on Ariz......I just wonder when we are going to come out on all cylinders guns blazing and not look bad until the final gun sounds? And on top of that it's a division game and on top of that the Panthers talked shit all week. You would think our guys would have showed a little pride. This lost feels a lot like the lost that ended the 2005 season when we had a chance to get to 9 wins and we got embarrassed in our own house. RE: Man, the fans are nearly pathetic right now. - RnB - 12-10-2012 06:03 AM Obviously, you want to win every game. The reality is that its nearly impossible to do that. When you look at it from that perspective, at least for me, its difficult to make more of this loss than it really is. We need to win two more games this season to insure we have the top seed. We played like shit, lost the game, now we need to move on and continue to try to get those two wins. RE: Man, the fans are nearly pathetic right now. - swanlee - 12-10-2012 09:30 AM People just do not seem to get it or have any perspective. We are 11-2, that does not happen by accident This year a lot of supposed greats teams have been beat by bad teams, New England lost to Arizona who just got blown out by 50+ points by Seattle. The Giants are 8-5, The Packers are 9-4. The 49r's lost and tied the Rams. In short their is not a perfect dominant team, every team has lost to an inferior team, shit happens this is the NFL. I'm concerned that this team seems to be weak in the trenches, and I wish we had a couple of big huge fat nasty monsters on O-line and D-line but you don;t get that this late in the season. Our team is what it is right now and no amount of whining is going to change that. You either ride the team till they are done this year or jump off like a sissy baby that can't handle the roller coaster. I just think alot of fans do not have what it takes to be a real fan of a team. It's easy to support this team when they are winning. I wish the babies would just go home, and move on to another team or sport. This is as bad as any game I've ever seen the Falcons play and I've been a fan since Bartkowski was handing off to Andrews. BS we have played alot worse then today, we've been blown out alot since the 80's we've layed goose eggs on the score board. You must have lost your memory cause I remember alot of Falcons teams simply laying down for seasons at a time. Getting spanked for 3QTR's is hardly the epic end all be all for a Falcons fan. Brilliant post, I completely agree. In the past I used to always say that it takes a special kind of masochist to be a Falcons fan and I understood why many didn't have the stomach for it. However today when taking the last five years into account, compared to ANY previous Falcons eras, the whining is just ridiculous and comes off sounding entitled. Worst Falcons defeat of all time? It doesn't even compare to the multiple 45-3 beatdowns from the niners including Deion high stepping it down the sideline for 95 yards. Or against the saints on Monday night before petrino quit, or a disgusting display against the rams on a Monday night about 10 years ago. There are probably another 20 cases at least. Hopefully drama club is over. RE: Man, the fans are nearly pathetic right now. - AUTiger7222 - 12-10-2012 12:56 PM (12-10-2012 12:52 PM)juraitwaluzka Wrote: Brilliant post, I completely agree. Who could forget that 36-0 drumming the Rams gave us on MNF in 2003? This is far from the worst loss the Falcons have ever had. But I will say it's one of our 5 worst losses of the last 5 years. |
