What an incredibly accurate and positive article. Thanks for posting. RE: Barnwell: It is time to take Ryan and the Falcons seriously - UCSBDirtyBird - 11-30-2012 01:16 PM Great read. Thanks for posting. It is amazing when Ryan is compared to Manning, people jump all over those who make the comparison, but up to this point in their careers, is there a more apt comparison? Hopefully Ryan brings the Lombardi to Atlanta in the very near future. RE: Barnwell: It is time to take Ryan and the Falcons seriously - Aftermath - 11-30-2012 02:23 PM We've had execution problems all year, can't put together a complete game if our lives depended on it, and seem to be content with sitting on small leads and barely winning rather than stepping on throats. I really don't see why anyone would take the Falcons seriously. I really don't see why anyone would take the Falcons seriously. Because just like previous super bowl teams it has the POTENTIAL tp all come together. - Giants had a worst problem than we did last year. They couldn't run the ball, defend the run or the pass - The Packers had a problem running the football and the O-line sucked headed into the playoffs and Starks emerged and that O-line got better If you, as a fan, of the team see the same potential that those teams had, then you can understand clearly why we should be believed in. And the funny thing about it is, we have WON GAMES with these flaws. What happens when we put it all together? There is a question of "if" but the Giants had those questions as well as the Packers. Even the Cardinals back in 2008 were having troubles running with Edgerrin James and he played well in the playoffs. If you see an 11-1 team with the POTENTIAL to be even better, then wouldn't you believe? When I encounter that situation I always say to them that they must think Ryan is better than Manning. After the confused blank stare I explain that must be the case, afterall if Manning had not won a playoff game at this point in his career that is the only explanation for holding Ryan to a higher standard. Great point. I'm adding it to the rebuttal bank. But will we? Smith has never had these guys clicking on all cylinders, despite the enormous amount of talent that we have on both sides of the ball. Yeah we have potential, but you can't get to the SB based on potential. Sooner or later you actually have to live up to that potential if you want to get where you are going. I see an 11-1 team that has the potential to be better but I also see an 11-1 team that is highly inconsistent and continues to under perform due to lack of execution. We have all but abandoned the no huddle, the most lethal aspect of our offense, and Smith and DK seem to be dead set on forcing what ever part of our offense that isn't working. Hard to get excited about a team that seems determined to play to its own weaknesses. RE: Barnwell: It is time to take Ryan and the Falcons seriously - AUTiger7222 - 12-01-2012 12:30 AM It's impossible for Ryan and the Falcons to have this great run of success and not have it eventually translate in the playoffs. At the end of the day it's still football. It's not like in the playoffs they change the game to something else. It's still the same game with same exact rules played on the same exact field. So this perception that Ryan and the Falcons can't win in the playoffs is completely stupid. |
