Heres a good way to take advantage of the challenge penalty - insanefalconfan - 11-22-2012 09:22 PM If we get in the situation at the end of the game that we score a Touchdown to win the game that could be overturned we should just throw are own challenge flag take the penalty and take the 15 yards... RE: Heres a good way to take advantage of the challenge penalty - juraitwaluzka - 11-22-2012 11:06 PM Interesting, I wonder if we will see the challenge flag used as a defensive measure. I hope we do, it's the quickest way to get that stupid rule changed. RE: Heres a good way to take advantage of the challenge penalty - Peyton - 11-23-2012 12:48 AM It won't work. The review is only cancelled if the call on the field went against the team that commits the penalty by throwing the flag. So in this instance, you'd just get the penalty but the call would still be reviewed. RE: Heres a good way to take advantage of the challenge penalty - Xanthri - 11-23-2012 02:49 AM Apparently it only negates the review if your team can benefit from it..... in our game the review still occurred in today's game they cancelled the review.... The right answer is review it and then enforce a 15 yard penalty....... I still don't get why it is unsportsmanlike conduct to throw a challenge flag.... It's stupid. Like it really is that hard for the ref to say, "sorry coach you can't challenge that". God forbid we waste 5 seconds, after all we have 4 more minutes of commercials to get in before the next play. Yeah, it's definitely not the referees fault, except for the ridiculously bad blown call on the TD yesterday.
