It's funny I've been on various Falcons boards since 98 when Falcons roost was the only one I could find, as a Fan you think hey I love this team and want to talk with others about it. then you hit TATF and it literally SUCKS the enthusiasm for the team right out of you like your bleeding to death. I was on TATF since 2002 and you just don't realize it but dear god it is so much better enjoying this team on MY terms. I've been a fan since 86 and have seen alot of this teams worst moments, Right now is a completely stupid time to be so down and pessimistic about this franchise.
Besides the horrible mods wanting people to troll to get more ad clicks, just the general negative consensus over there just brings you down as a fan. At some point you just have to sit down and enjoy a 9-1 team warts and all.
So many times before I've seen us piss away leads and shoot ourselves in the foot it is really refreshing to see us on days where we play like crap but still have enough player talent and coaching talent to still win.
This point is completely lost on the winning babies at TATF.

I stopped posting at the official forums for two reasons. The change to the format with some kind of ad that really shorted the screen and the fact mods would let trolls roam free but somehow any liberal political poster in the politics board would get banned.

Being a fan is supposed to be a positive experience. Dealing with people like those that infest the original board is a very negative experience. No sane person wants to deal with it. Those that choose to deal with it are simply justifying that type of behavior and encouraging it to continue.

Some people thrive on the arguing, some people must always be right even if they are not. Some people enjoy the illusion of thinking that they are "putting these people in their place". The anonymous nature of a message board only magnifies these traits, especially since the vast majority of them wouldn't have the balls to do what they do in person - this gives them a false sense of power that they otherwise never get to experience in every day life. All of this becomes a feeding frenzy of sorts and with poor moderation it is very easy for the inmates to run the asylum.
To me it's a complete waste of time, no different than stonewalled political or religious "discussions".

I always figure people can go to Political and religious sites to talk about that bullshit. I come here for football and the offbeat comedy styling of Jedi.
