Wait... I thought your defense returned to full strength last week.

You have since deleted the above post. Care to tell us why?

Also, could you kindly point out below the "each and every week" improvement you have been seeing from the Saints' defense? I just can't find it.

Wk 1: 459 yds, 40 pts
Wk 2: 463 yds, 35 pts
Wk 3: 510 yds, 27 pts
Wk 4: 421 yds, 28 pts
Wk 5: 427 yds, 24 pts
Wk 6: bye
Wk 7: 513 yds, 28 pts
Wk 8: 530 yds, 34 pts
Wk 9: 447 yds, 13 pts

Maybe you were simply thinking of the "improvement" shown in Week 6?

These two teams have always played each other well. I expect an emotionally charged game that will entertain well into the fourth quarter. That has been the tradition between the Falcons and Saints.

This is one of the best rivalries in the NFL.

We defeated Peyton Manning's #3 offense quite soundly. How did you guys do against them, anyway?

And for the record, we have faced four Top 10 offenses so far this season - exact same number as you. Of course, our D is giving up an average of 17 points per game against Top 10 offenses, while yours is giving up 29.

Spin away.

This is Huge.

This is the 1 injury - outside of losing Ryan - that can destroy this team's season.

dammmmmit!

It's the joke that just gets funnier and funnier with each re-telling!

Dodgy

The Saints are not disciplined this year. They are without their commander and chief. The figurehead they feed off of, believe in, play for, respect, and fear.

It's like high school teenagers who's rich parents are going on vacation for a few weeks and leave the kids at home with a credit card and tell them to be responsible and not get in any trouble. As soon as the parents are gone, the kids are preparing the house for a huge keg party. They order pizza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and chase it down with alcohol. They stay up late and sleep in. They get lazy and slack on responsibilities. The big brother or aunt/uncle stops by a few times to check in on them and see how they're doing and the kids clean up and act like they're listening and being total angels, but inside they can't wait for them to leave again so they can party, bang chicks, spend money, and have a good time for a change. They know they only got few weeks of this before it's back to strict rules following or else. (or 1 year in this case)

The Falcons are giving up less points on defense while scoring more points on offense vs. last year.
The Saints are giving up more points on defense while scoring less points on offense vs. last year.

I like our chances. I think the only way we lose this game is if we make a couple mistakes turning the ball over early, get down a couple TD's, and Matt starts pressing and makes a couple more throwing mistakes down the stretch.

But we're just not playing like that this year. Not even close. In fact it's 1000000% been the opposite. Matt is on a different level this year and we're the least penalized and most mistake-free team in the league up to this point. The Saints lack of discipline and drive vs. a team that has 100% gelled and overflowing with discipline is what we're looking at here. And I like our chances.

The Saints can still beat us but it's just ludicrous for a Saints fan to say the defense has been improving. Just be truthful and say what needs to happen Brees needs to have a Breesus like game which he is capable of.

Not funny. Sad. The dude needs professional help and I truly hope he gets it. Both his world and the world at large would be better off for it.

Dave Hampton must be a Saints fan. Just heard him say on Pro Football Weekly that the Saints off a sudden have a defense and Drew Brees is going to show Matt Ryan who the best QB is in the division. One of the other guys on there (don't know who he is) said "I'm done trying to predict when the Falcons will lose." Tom Waddle also picked the Saints to win. I guess since both Waddle and Hampton played for the Bears it must be something in the water in Chicago.
