Midseason Worries aka the "Bitch about shit even though we're winning" Thread - TonyGraziani - 11-05-2012 02:14 PM

What are the biggest worries you have moving forward this year? Not a lot to worry about but my list is:

-inconsistency in the run game
-Jaquizz getting the ball on 3rd and short
-Our tackling looking like middle schoolers in spring workouts
-Not coming up with a turnover against 2 of the most turnover-prone QBs in the league

Vent on these issues and more, then leave this thread and celebrate us being 8-0! Big Grin

Tackling is definitely my biggest worry, same as it was in the preseason.

Tackling can be fixed. Most of the issues last night were with DR. He was a penalty and non-tackling machine. He was just off.

Other issue is with our short yardage game. We cannot get 1-2 yards effectively running the ball when we need it.

Tackling...plain and simple....we start tackling and these games are not even close.

Hell I can tackle better than they are.....(I am serious...) I only played high school ball but at 145 lbs they put me in at Linebacker because I was fearless when it came to tackling......I just don't understand why the Falcons think a shoulder bump will take people down....

With that said, a few times I have seen them forgo the tackle to strip the ball, which has it's trade off.....but if you go to strip it....you better strip it.....I think Nolan would be better showing them film of Charles Tillman PUNCHING at the ball at every opportunity WHILE he is reaching around defender to TACKLE THEM!!!!!!

I think if we learn how to tackle....we make it to the superbowl.....hate to say it, but this shoulder bump crap is a recipe for disaster!

Tackling can be fixed.....BUT WE ARE IN WEEK 9 and STILL CAN NOT TACKLE!!!!

Shoulder bump didn't work for Cardinals eaither yesterday.....

Short yardage we are suffering only because we keep returning to that BS MM up the gut run......do more screens and sweeps with our speed guys (disguised of course......) and we will be fine....We don't have the big bodies to go up the gut for 2 yards......never did with MM either!

Our offensive line is way too "hit or miss". That's my only worry.

Ok you're starting to get irritating.

Sure you can tackle better then the players on the Falcons.

Come the fuck on.

There's three threads now with you saying something asinine.

I think the D prides itself in not giving up points, but along the way taking chances and trying for TO's. That seems to be why they lay the wood so much instead of wrapping up on tackles.

I like an opportunistic D, but they can both lay the big hit/try for the strip AND tackle well while they are at it.

Why the Hell aren't we 9-0?

Seriously.

....as if you are not irritating....The way our guys are tackling this year is damn right embarrassing....they are not tackling like profootball players....or college players....they are tackling like a bad high school team. there is some sarcasm there....but I know they know HOW to tackle...they just are not doing it for whatever reason.

If you are talking about going for it on 4th....you need to do the math.....running the ball would have taken more time off the clock and in the situation they were in they were not gonna have time to make several down the field plays and get up to spike the ball....even Matt Ryan needed 47 seconds (with no timeouts) to get in range for a long field goal.....To each his own.....it is a post and an opinion.....so I can have my opinion that our tackling sucks balls right now....surprisingly I am not the only one who thinks that....
