I didn't know who to pick to win this game. But I expected a lot of field goals and defense.

Boy I wish the Falcons could run the ball like Marshawn Lynch and the Seahawks do.

Did anyone understand the 49ers declining the penalty and the safety that would have put them up by 9? and taking the ball at the 25 yard line instead to kneel on.....

take the safety and when they kick the free kick fair catch it or take a knee - same effect you win by 9.........

Instead they ask for a measurement, had the seahawks made the yardage then he still had option to accept penalty (it sounded like he had already declined it and demanded the measurement......meaning had they got the first down they would have had 40 seconds to get a TD......)

I don't understand why you don't take the safety....

I don't understand what happened but I was happy they declined the safety so I got the pick right in our pick em league. Smile

i didn't get it either.....why give back two points?

i was hoping the seahawks would win, too bad, now the media will be nut hugging them all over again

The only things I can see are either a review of the chop block (if they even can/did review it) allowing the Seahawks one more chance (probably asked for a measurement before the decision to decline, which is what caused confusion) or not wanting to put their special teams on the field in case of some fluke onside, score, onside, score.

I am not sure if a Safety due to a penalty is a reviewable call, firstly. Secondly, I think it was smart to leave nothing to chance when one declined penalty, that is your decision, can give you a win.

Yea they made the right decision. Take the ball and just kneel the game out. No point risking it on an onside punt and the potential injuries that could happen

Just heard that call by Harbaugh to decline the safety resulted in a $75M swing in Vegas.
