These scrub refs are horrible. Sad

You will hear about this all week. Angry

With all due respect, Packers played an awful game and the call went against them at the end.

All of the usual NFL darlings are getting their behinds kicked and have losing records.

Saints 0-3

Greenbay 1-2

N'England 1-2

All media darlings with losing records and how dare the refs make a call against the darlings of the NFL!!!

LOL Shutup and take it!!! You play the game the end and let the ball fall where it will...

Just my take!!!

I think a lot of people around the country are missing it a little here. The replacement refs are not ultimately to blame and here's why.

Was it an interception or a touchdown? I think it was an interception because - it wasn't a simultaneous catch because at the initial point the GB player had two hands on the ball, the Seattle player didn't get his 2nd hand in there until after GB had "made the catch".

However, if you look at the angle where the ref who made the call was, there was no way he could see that, especially not in real time. By the time he got in there it looked like a simultaneous catch so he called it accordingly. This is exactly the type of situation that replay is supposed to help with but because of NFL rules it could not be used to get the call right.

The NFL in all its stupidity has these ridiculous rules that don't allow them to use the technology at their disposal to make the right call. I've said all along that the real problem is that the NFL is not truly serious about getting the call right and this a prime example. I'm sure the ref looked at the replay and saw that the call was wrong but because of the NFL rule was unable to reverse it.

The sad part is the majority of the lazy media will not pay attention to this nuance and use it as an excuse to pile on the replacement refs who, while obviously in over their heads are only being hurt by the NFL's perplexing policies when it comes to officiating games.

That being said, I'm glad GB got the shaft Big Grin

It was simultaneous possession. Impossible to tell who actually had the ball (meaning it goes to the offense). Sure GB had MORE ball, but Tate had the ball too... and had both hands on it, which is why the ref called TD. I mean, he had both hands on it.... how do you not say both hands is not enough? I've seen the "regular" refs make the same call many times (just not as the last play of the game).

People are making a big deal to create drama...

The review could not reverse the Ref call on possession, only whether it was caught or not. People acting like the replay would have given it to GB are wrong. The replay was not the issue. As for the "pass interference" - every Hail Mary has that kind of jockeying, and it is never called, replacements or no.

This was a judgement call, and the ref made his judgement (substantiated by the two hands on the ball, which ESPN keeps ignoring, calling it one arm). EVERY judgement call will be controversial. Nothing, including giving in to the refs (which some of their demands - not the money, but the operational ones - are ridiculous), will change that.

And I'll just add one more point to the no call on the pass interference that Gruden was crying about. Jerry Austin who was a long-time NFL ref (remember his voice being used on video games for years), and who I personally consider one of the best there ever was, said on the broadcast that on hail marys the officials are told to ignore pass interference. Just let the plays do whatever it takes to make a play on the ball. So the no call on the pass interference was correct.

I remember a few years ago, a falcon corner caught the ball about the same time the receiver did.....the Falcon corner had it better than the receiver too......guess who got the ball? Yup, the receiver did...completed pass and a first down IIRC.

Now all of a sudden it is a horrible call.....because the "regular" refs didn't do it...all the phantom roughing the passer or PI's called for Brady and co......none of them were horrible???

You don't want to lose on a funny play at the end of a game...be up by more than a td, and score more than 12 points...take care of your business and this is not something you have to worry about.

People are crying about nothing. They finally have a legit excuse to blame the refs for their terrible play. The replacement refs are doing a decent job. The only thing they suck at is the managerial side of penalties; knowing how many yards to give, the speed at which they make penalty calls and enforce them, and their review time.

If they can speed up their calls more and learn the fucking rulebook better, I would rather keep the new ones. They do not have a tendency to give certain players and teams a distinct advantage. Each officiating crew may be different (some call more and some call less) but the overall game is NOT being hurt by the new officials. Fuck the old refs and fuck anyone who uses the scabs as an excuse for why their team sucks.

I'm firmly against anyone getting boned by the refs, regardless of the situation.

Maybe next time the packer will hit that ball over his head and out the back of the endzone lol im not too fussed about it both guys had the ball and whenever we played rugby it was always benefit of the doubt to the offensive player

You know what's worse than the Packers getting robbed?

This cost me 2 fucking FF league losses. I had Packers defense in 2 of my 3 leagues and lost one game by 1 point and another game by 2 points.

I could give 2 shits about the Packers, but those scab refs actually fucked me royally!

I really wonder if this could get overturned after the fact some time this week.

It's so obvious the wrong call, I wonder if they can do that.

If they won't even allow themselves to use replay to get the call right there is no way they are going to change anything post game.
