Ovie released!

Saints rookie RB Tavaris Cadet makes 53 man roster. That means Chris Ivory needs to go some how.

Who's gonna return punts?

Douglas is the first option. Coaches said he had the job but would not return punts in pre-season. If Toone makes the 53 he is an option as well.

For the Saints? That is one of the main reasons Cadet made the squad. Not only is he a very good ball carrier, but he has excellent hands out of the backfield and fields both kickoffs and punts. He has enough versatility to open up at least one, if not two roster spots for depth elsewhere. I really like Ivory, but he simply isn't as versatile. He should be excellent trade bait, though, to help fill another hole. LB seems to be the most likely target as all others are quite deep with talent ... and health. Possibly CB.

He was promising coming out of college.

You think they'll put their WR3 out there? The WR squad doesn't appear to be deep enough to risk it. Excellent talent at the top, but very limited in depth.

Yes he was, but I think he went into a defense that was not suited to his talents. He just never seemed to get on track.

It wouldn't surprise me if Ovie ends back up on your squad after week one. You can't be running many four wide sets (counting Gonzo) with the lack of depth at WR, so I would think that two back sets, which y'all have had success with in the past, would make sense.
