Peter King says 5,000 passing yards for Matt Ryan is "very realistic." - juraitwaluzka - 08-13-2012 11:36 AM I can't disagree with that. Will it happen, who knows but it certainly is possible. I don't know if it's just preseason excitement but I thought Ryan looked more like the 2008 Ryan which is exactly what I wanted to see. 2008 Ryan plus 4 years NFL experience is going to be fun to watch. As King said the cuffs are off. Can't wait for Thursday, got my tickets, ready to go now! RE: Peter King says 5,000 passing yards for Matt Ryan is "very realistic." - Radical - 08-13-2012 01:38 PM I'm doubting any QB hits 5,000+ again, let alone Ryan. RE: Peter King says 5,000 passing yards for Matt Ryan is "very realistic." - Jesus - 08-13-2012 03:51 PM No thanks. No QB who has thrown for 5000 yards has ever come close to winning the super bowl in the same season. No Dan Marino was never close. Also no QB that has led the league in passing has won a super bowl in the same year. Balance and post season defense wins super bowls not personal accomplishments. RE: Peter King says 5,000 passing yards for Matt Ryan is "very realistic." - RockHoward - 08-13-2012 04:01 PM The game is changing. A top notch passing offense need not hold back a team that has enough in the way of rushing and defense. It is true that in the past only teams with major deficiencies in some areas have had to rely on passing so much, but going forward that probably won't be the case. Every good team will do it. We had never had back to back winning seasons and one man changed it. It would be awesome if he did it again
RE: Peter King says 5,000 passing yards for Matt Ryan is "very realistic." - AUTiger7222 - 08-13-2012 06:29 PM It is certainly possible. But I'm thinking he'll end up more around 4,500 yards. I think this year Ryan's touchdown passes take a huge jump. I'm talking about 35 or 36 touchdown passes this year for Ryan. He should compete for MVP this year. But I'd be damn sure impressed in Turner and Quizz combined for 5000 yards.
