Read bolded portions. Further proof that MM simply doesn't get it. His arrogance will be his downfall yet again. If ever a team needed a simple playbook it's the Jaguars. I am SO thankful that we have two new coordinators this year.

The last remaining rookie holdout is coming to work.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Monday that the team and the No. 5 overall draft pick, Justin Blackmon, have agreed to terms on a contract. Blackmon is expected to sign his contract Monday night or Tuesday morning.

Blackmon's deal is worth $18.5 million over four years, a source with knowledge of the situation told NFL.com and NFL Network reporter Albert Breer. The deal is fully guaranteed.

The two sides had been butting heads over contractual language following Blackmon's DUI arrest in June. It's so far unclear how they settled the dispute. The new collective bargaining agreement's slotting system has made financial terms relatively easy to agree on.

Blackmon pleaded guilty and received a deferred sentence of one year. It was his second alcohol-related arrest.

The big wideout from Oklahoma State missed 11 days of training camp counting Monday's practice.

Blackmon's arrival comes at the right time. Jaguars offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski admitted Monday that the team's passing game is "not very good." The team's No. 1 receiver Laurent Robinson has struggled in practice, and the team has very little depth at the position.

Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis told NFL.com that Blackmon will have a steep learning curve now that he will be in camp more than a week after everyone else.

"When I was a rookie, I wanted to get into camp," Lewis told NFL Network's Steve Wyche and Mark Kriegel on the "Double Coverage" podcast on Monday. "I couldn't imagine holding out as a rookie with this playbook. It's one of the most complicated playbooks that I've ever had. It's going to be tough. He's going to have to be on his horse when he gets to camp."

The Jaguars traded up to draft Blackmon to give quarterback Blaine Gabbert another playmaker. Now it's time for Blackmon and Gabbert to go work together.

So Marcedes Lewis is saying it's one of the most complicated playbooks that he has ever had? And he's been in the league for awhile.

Maybe he gives the playbook out to opponents then tries to fool them by running the opposite in games.

Yeah I'm not sure what's complicated about TE up the seam, WR 5 yard out routes and curl routes, and lining RB's up in the i-formation and telegraphing runs up the middle.

That's the unexplainable dichotomy of MM's playbook and playcalling. By all accounts his playbook is massive and complex, yet multiple defensive players on other teams openly admitted it was easy to figure out exactly what MM was going to do.

The sooner the Jags admit they made a colossal mistake with Gabbert, the sooner they can start to turn that team around.

It's gonna be a rough rough year for that bunch this year.

Did someone on here once say an etch a sketch used by a Parkinson's patient would yield better route combos than MM?

Sure he has a bunch of complicated plays, but he puts so much value in them due to his arrogance / fear that someone will steal his brilliance, he only calls one or two of them per game (at most). At least that's the only reason I can think of for the odd instances of him calling stuff that actually worked, was creative but never to be seen again. Meanwhile the stuff you mentioned we saw over and over.

Don't know if it was said but it's true.

That is pretty good way of explaining it. It seemed MM tried to make simple plays complicated through verbiage and some decoy, but at the end of the day when the line lines up for a run off tackle, it doesn't matter how many decoy things you do, defenses can read it based on the personnel/fromation. My opinion is that the plays were not very creative, but the way they were presented made it harder on the offense to run than the opposing defense to stop. They defenses could guess based on formations and tendencies and be right a majority of the time.
