He shredded his pec muscle. When athletes have a pec muscle injury its always because they ripped it, otherwise its nothing to report about.
The tragedy is that Tatoopu's career ended again, right when he was trying to start a new career. Im disappointed. I dont have a lot of faith in Akeem Dent. He's too small.

"The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have signed linebacker Mike Peterson."
I was really interested to see what he could bring to the team.
Thing that worries me now is that Mike wasn't planning on coming back.
And I'm not sure Dent is ready. It may take him 8 games or so until we see what he's capable of.
But now he is the target on our D.

I don't think we would resign Mike Peterson without him being healthy or in shape. We obviously signed him because we're familiar with him and his work ethic but we didn't have to because it's a new defense.
If anything we could have signed Channing Crowder because he does know the defense, so I don't think him being in shape is going to be a concern. He never announced his retirement so he was most likely staying in shape in case of a call.

Well he was no g-tee to stay healthy and perform anyways so not gonna sweat what we never really had. Someone has to step up. I believe Dent can provide some quality play but he'll have to grow up real quick.

Not trying to toot my own horn, especially about injuries, but it was easy to sense that his injury was very serious.
He ripped apart his pec in the weight room. Sadly, his career is now pretty much over. Condolences to Lofa and his family - he has essentially "died" as an NFL player now...

Yeah, I remember when Kerney had that injury, I figured the news wouldn't be good. At least it happened now instead of say week 3.

I would disagree with this. This isn't a damning injury. The only reason it takes him out for the season is because it requires surgery to fix, but people will take a chance on a former 3-time pro bowler just 2 years ago who is only 30 years old by the time next year comes.

I had such High hopes for Tupu and him having the year off and being refreshed, but it's a damn shame we lost him to an injury.
Lets really hope that Dent steps it up and takes this opportunity to show what he's able to show.
Anyone think we'd move Spoon in the middle?
