6'4 220 lbs, by far the best pure ranged shooter in the entire draft. By very far. Dude makes 4-5 3 pointers a game and averaged 21 points a game in the SEC. Decent defender and average athleticism and speed.

Unfortunately Fab Melo went off the board right before our pick. We REALLY need a true big center and we missed out on Fab and it hurts. But we got the best shooter in the draft so it's not all bad.

And we just selected Mike Scott out of Virginia, another 6'9 forward for our second pick, which I just don't get. We already have 3 6'9 forwards on the team and 2 of them are playing out of position. Horford should be playing the 4 and we need a true center.

Mike Scott is a good scorer though too. 19 ppg and great on defense. Maybe he's Josh Smiths replacement.

What this tells me though is Josh Smith and Marvin Williams are trade bait for a center.

We get a real center in here, move Al to the 4, move Joe to the 3, put this John Jenkins kid at the 2 in Joes old spot as our true outside shooting guard, make Joe at the 3 start driving to the basket for a change, and Teague be the general at point and we might actually have something that can get past the first round of the playoffs.

We need a real bigman underneath though. Damn it sux we didn't get Fab. I really thought he was the answer.

I'm set to continue assuming the Hawks will be the best team that cannot win a championship in the NBA next year again with this addition, and cannot wait to watch our players show no heart on the road as we exit the first round of the playoffs. Can we draft a coach, because there are plenty still on the board that might be able to get some actual effort and gutsy play from our guys when it matters?

Step 1 to fixing the Hawks: Finding a coach that gives a damn.
Step 2 to fixing the Hawks: Finding a GM that's not going to make idiotic moves (See Joe Johnson Contract, Atlanta already being over the 2012-13 cap by almost $6 million).
Step 3 to fixing the Hawks: Bring in players that are going to actually try to win games away from the mad house (The Hawks have made the playoffs each of the last 5 seasons, going 140-60 at home and 84-113 on the road).

They have a new GM. Danny Farry.

Like that is going to help.

I don't just hate him because he is a dookie, but it sure doesn't help. His horrible transactions in Cleveland killed that franchise to the point where even Lebron couldn't win there. He's a bum with no eye for talent or the GM job.

You guys will love mike scott... followed him at UVA. Smart, tenacious, great post game..... Pretty much carried UVA last year byhimself to an NCAA bid..

Before this season we made the 2nd round 3 years in a row. The Hawks(and the NBA as a whole) frustrate me too but don't discredit what they have done, which is more than our Falcons have over the same time frame.

Interesting, according to sources, the Hawks are trying to trade Joe Johnson to the Nets for a bunch of expiring contracts.

People mentioned as possibly being in the deal from the Nets are:
  • MarShon Brooks
  • Jordan Farmar
  • Johan Petro
  • Anthony Morrow
  • Jordan Williams
  • Gerald Green
  • Kris Humphries

Note that not all of these players would be included, and apparently the Nets are trying to avoid trading Brooks.

Also, Dwight Howard has apparently requested a trade to Brooklyn.

Hawks trade anything good away for nothing? Yeah, sounds like them.

The most mediocre team ever keeps striving for a perfect balance of enough talent to sell some seats but not enough to win anything that matters.
