Let's play the Guido Bounty-Gate Drinking Game! Every time Guido denies the existence of evidence, take a drink! You'll have cirrhosis of the liver in 2 1/2 days!

not really enough to matter to brees, i mean come on, even his own fans accumulated $800 wouldn't budge him.....

i personally wonder how many times they had to pass the plate to get that much. a guy that used to work for me years ago asked me for change for a ten, they were having church that night and he needed a dollar to put in every time they passed the plate.....cause the preacher would look at it and say 'not enough' and have them pass it around again, LMAO

who knows, brees may start his own church after he retires

LOL, you guys think I'm not enjoying this.

However, though this is great news, the Saints still haven't lost a game this year. (perspective)

nor have they won one, despite the 'predictions' and 'opinions' that loosing their mastermind HC, for the season, and GM for almost half of it, high round draft picks and a locker room that has got to be in the very least full of a bunch of people who are all nonchalantly looking around to try to figure out who the rats are, won't matter.

but yes, i expect you are enjoying it, just as much as the rest of us. to quote a post from another forum "dear offseason, i love you" your friend, papachaz (it wasn't me that made it over there, just love that post)

Nah...He will come in like a cool brees and claim that all of this is Kosher, and that none of it really matters, in fact this is all good news for the Saints, only you are to dumb to realize it.

And then there will be one of these
Rolleyes

There isn't a Saints forum I have ever seen that would allow an opposing fan (especially a Falcons fan) to go back and forth on a subject like this for more than 2 pages better yet 55! (Yet two pages and 12+ hours since the new news and no Guido!)

This has been an interesting and comical read as the story unfolds and I respect the mods for at least allowing Guido to simply hang himself here rather than act like the insecure *&^%$ on any Saints forum and just ban the guy.

The Falcons fans here have done a great job at dismantling his arguments and commenting on the legal issues.

actually, he asked us to make him feel special, so we gave him a helmet and some crayons, and let him keep posting

And now Shanle has admitted the program was real, but claims it has been blown out of proportion:

Quote:New Orleans Saints linebacker Scott Shanle said the NFL has blown the bounty scandal out of proportion.

Shanle told the New Orleans Times-Picayune on Tuesday that the league wanted to make an example out of the Saints and discourage any similar "pay-for-performance" programs.

Shanle told the Times-Picayune the Saints had an incentive program, which included payouts between $500 and $1,000 for big hits and other key plays.

That included the much-publicized "cart-offs" and "knockouts." But Shanle told the Times-Picayune those specific terms came from "Gregg's language," a reference to former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who was suspended indefinitely for his role in the scandal. Shanle said the terms didn't insinuate intentionally injuring, or trying to injure, an opponent.

"I never saw any money for injuring somebody exchange hands," Shanle told the Times-Picayune. ...

"Gregg said crazy stuff," Shanle added. "If you take him literally, you're gonna be locked up. But he was the best motivator I've ever been around."

Shanle told the Times-Picayune that side bets are commonplace throughout the NFL, but that the Saints' program was perhaps the most organized he had seen. Shanle also said the program penalized players for penalties and other mental errors.

"There's been this picture painted that (Jonathan) Vilma was standing in front of the defense before every game picking out players to go after and offering money," Shanle told the Times-Picayune. "It was blown up to be something more than it is."

Yep, so much for the "There was no bounty program" argument, as well as the "It was pay for performance, not knockouts and cart-offs."
