Sorry, if you kept up with the news you would have known that there is actually no rule against pay for performance as the payments come from the players themselves.
The league had already OK'd that back in 1996.
That said, salary cap violations do not fall under the guidance of the commissioner and can only be limited to fines.

Goodell works for the NFL which is the 32 owners of the teams and not the players who are assets who come and go. They are basically employees with a limited shelf life. Benson is only one of the 32 owners and would need the vote of at least 17 owners to dismiss Goodell. Good luck!

I know it might not be the right message board for this but I just thought you all might like to know that the Falcons are 6-0. I know with all the discussion about the 1-4 aints from the bayou balllicker it's a little difficult to notice.

Let's see, it is the same five or six of you that don't have a clue that keep this thread going. Most people have already found major faults with the whole affair. Y'all are going to carry it to your grave that the Saints did something awful even well past their being cleared. Most of the claims have already been dropped because they were bogus. The only ones remaining are those stated by an ex-employee that was fired for lying to management on multiple occasions and has been accused of falsifying document to support his accusations.
Roger Goodell has already been outed for lying about facts on multiple occasions. This last occasion likely prompted his being forced to recused himself from hearing any further appeals. Regardless of what the few of you wish to believe this whole affair is going south for Goodell. He based everything on the word of a proven liar.
Beef has said he can't believe anything all of the players and coaches and opposing players have sworn to, but he chooses to believe a man that was fired from his job for lying to management on two separate occasions instead?
Tell me who has lost contact with reality.
