No he did not. That is one of the biggest misconceptions by those people that have not followed the entire story from the beginning. He submitted two separate apologies and admitted to running a pay for performance program in both, but he denied any existence of intent to ever injure another player.

Paul Tagliabue coming back to make a ruling on these appeals. Goodell is like I'm done with these clowns. I hope Paul lays the same hammer.

He did file a statement attached to Vilma's defamation suit against Goodell just yesterday. The wording in the statement suggests that he is claiming the same sort of character slaughter as the Saints players, so a personal lawsuit wouldn't be out of the question.

As it should have been. I never said they apologized. I said I assumed you weren't claiming the NFL had no authority to suspend the coaches or punish the organization, and I used the apology by the Saints to demonstrate why that would be a foolish claim, if in fact you were making it.

Quote:The Saints organization could only go off what Goodell had told them.

Then they're pretty stupid to apologize to everyone for something when they don't even know whether they did it, huh?

And then to pay $500,000.00 and not even fight losing a 2nd round draft pick? What kind of morons are running that organization anyway?

The team and the coaches have no power to fight any of it, unlike the players. And don't believe that when/IF Cerullo's claims are discredited and all charges dropped that the Saints management will just sit back and keep taking it. And don't forget that Tom Benson hired the Freeh firm to investigate the whole matter so they aren't just sitting their and taking it.

Did they hold the $500K in escrow pending a resolution of the issues?

Did they say one word about wanting their 2nd round pick back?

Because if I had a multi-million dollar organization, bet your ass I would have. Anyone who rolls half a mil out and lets a competitive advantage as strong as a 2nd round pick go without knowing whether it was warranted is an idiot, point blank. It isn't a matter of "keep taking it." It's a matter of stroking a check for 500 large and then, after-the-fact, going "oh, gosh, we really DIDN'T do anything wrong?" Nobody does that. Nobody.

You've got that right. All they have to do is wait for the NFLPA and Vilma's legal team to do the dirty work and then they can, and will, pounce. You are absolutely right. Don't forget that Benson met privately with Goodell in New York last month and I would expect a threat was included in that meeting along the lines of show me something solid or your ass is grass.

I have a feeling this is the first step in Goodell's exit from leadership. It will most likely be some other person handing the Saints the Lombardi Trophy in the Superdome next February.

Dude yall not going to the Super Bowl. Im not saying the Falcons will make it there but of all the delusional things you have said, this is by far the worst.

You should probably aim for .500 first, but that will be a longshot. Yall will probably lose the next 3 out of 5 games.

Specifically the Denver, Atlanta, and Philly games. At that point yall will be 3-7 but I fully expect you to think that yall will win the Super Bowl at that point as well.

Actually I fully expect you to disappear because of work

Want to put a bet on the Saints losing three of the next five?

It can be another Sig bet or if you can make it over here for the game in November we can put a drink on it.

Pay for performance goes around the salary cap and is against the rules. You can't pay players under the table, duh

What the fuck is wrong with saints fans? Always playing the victim role eve when it is the saints who broke the rules.
