RE: Vilma Suspended 1 year - swanlee - 05-05-2012 11:38 AM Even I don't think guido should be banned he is not spamming the board he is just an idiot and is in complete denial. It will be fun to knock him around during the season as the Saints will end up 6-10 and even more stuff will come tolight as to how corrupt the Saints were. At some point Goodell is going to put the Death Sentence on them. The L.A. Bounty Hunters has a good ring to it for the Saints when they move. RE: Vilma Suspended 1 year - ATLBound - 05-05-2012 11:42 AM I don't have ANY problem with Guido. Prior to bountygate I figured him as objective to multiple subjects. I thibk this particular subject hit him where it hurts the most, his heart, and he doesn't know how to handle it. Once all the dust settles and everything is proven, then he will go back to his previous form. It may take some time but ge will get there. Had to go Dr. Phil real quick...lol RE: Vilma Suspended 1 year - phocis850 - 05-05-2012 12:25 PM Guido isn't going to be banned. Sadly, he's more civil than many fellow Falcons fans. Should I go ahead and un-ban Swift and the gang? LOL. RE: Vilma Suspended 1 year - RockHoward - 05-05-2012 12:34 PM Guido, Let's get beyond proof for a second and let me ask you this: Do you think that at any time there was an implicit understanding between Gregg Williams and any of the Saints players that if they managed to hurt a player enough to get them out of a game that they would receive an extra payment above and beyond their contract? Note that I am not asking if such a payment ever happened. I am also not asking if their was a written contract. I am not asking if there was money collected to make such a payment. Above all I am not asking if there was proof. The question is simply do you think such an arrangement ever existed at any time? RE: Vilma Suspended 1 year - Templar - 05-05-2012 02:05 PM And of course if Ornstein offered a "joke" bounty it's okay at that point. Let's see how that works. Mods, let any of the forum members here know that I've got $5000 in if one of them takes Guido out. That was just a joke. See isn't it really funny offering money to injure someone in a heating manner. Hilarious. All I can go on is what I have heard from the players themselves because they are the only ones who truly know. I follow virtually every Saints player that is on Twitter and from every indication there I can't see any of them buying into that. I was involved in sports for years and that is something that any athlete would shun. Most every Saints player has denied ever contributing toward injuring another player or collecting for the same. Now, I have no doubt whatsoever there was a pay for performance program going on. That is against the rules and deserved punishment. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with that other than the fact it is against the rules. Here is where it gets dicey. I would not put it past Gregg Williams to add a couple of categories to the players' program and offer it up to the players. Based upon what I know about the character of the players and human nature it is very hard for me to believe that any of them would have played along with that kind of game. If I was in their shoes and Williams brought that up, especially now knowing about his "my way or the highway mentality", I would have probably nodded my head while saying to myself "F you", no way in hell I'm going out trying to do that. I guess what it comes down to is that no, I honestly do not believe there was any two way arrangement for that action. But, I also cannot honestly say that Williams didn't try to promote something. That's why I am so adamant about wanting to see proof. I don't give a rats ass about Williams, and even what Payton and Loomis got hit with, while extremely agressive, may be warranted just for not keeping tighter reins on Williams. But, I am afraid the players have been caught up in the storm of ex-player litigation, Payton's ability to piss off the media and Williams' lunatic behavior. Actually, some around here probably would find that amusing, but still know you weren't serious. I would think the coaches didn't agree with Mr. Ornstein's prison humor. But, we've all known that person who laughs at his own jokes which everyone else thinks are lame. You made my point there. I know for a fact I have seen people on this very forum talk about hoping someone would take Drew Brees' knee out. You've seen it as well. I don't take it seriously and neither did you, I would guess. RE: Vilma Suspended 1 year - AsylumGuido - 05-05-2012 04:00 PM (05-05-2012 12:25 PM)phocis850 Wrote: Guido isn't going to be banned. RE: Vilma Suspended 1 year - Drathdon - 05-05-2012 04:51 PM Guido is wrong, but that said, I would actually visit less if he was banned for what he has currently done because I would not want to be a part of that kind of group. He doesn't start threads, and stays in the ones created by others. If you don't like his discussions, why read threads about the Aints? Also, why not make more Falcons threads so we can both talk more about our team and minimize the number of Aints threads on the board? More Falcons talk solves all the problems.
