Our draft. - ChrisD - 04-23-2012 06:18 PM I have been thinking the past couple of days about whether or not its really that crazy to consider us moving into the first round of the draft. I mean, sure we would without a doubt need to give up next years first and more mid round picks, but what would be the major loss? I see spots all over that we could use an impact first round player at. Offensive tackle, defensive line, tight end, corner and probably even safety. How much upside could one third rounder possibly have at those positions? I could see gracing a tight end there, but you generally aren't going to find any of those other spots with ready now potential. Why not cut our losses, trade next years first and third plus this years third for a mid first rounder? There are a bunch of teams rumored to be trying to trade back, why not take advantage? I know its a definite each but after seeing what we did for Julio last season, is it really that crazy? RE: Our draft. - Beef - 04-23-2012 06:23 PM As I mentioned in the other thread, if Jayron Hosley didn't get injured last year, he would be a top 15 pick, maybe even the #1 CB this year. But because he missed most of the season, he is going to go right around our 2nd pick. Add to the fact we've met with the guy more times than any other draft prospect, I think we go for him. This is why I don't think we move up again. RE: Our draft. - Dale4Saul2Red0 - 04-23-2012 06:41 PM I wanted Alfonzo Dennard before he punched a cop because now I know our organization won't touch him, but given his skill set he was already going to be amazing value on draft day before the arrest. Imagine now. RE: Our draft. - TonyGraziani - 04-25-2012 12:28 AM You would make this same thread next year. I saw an article that discussed who would be on the board for us at 22 this year and how Julio will make enough impact for his pick and that one. Who would we trade up for really? There is no player I see at a "big" hole that would be worth it, and you don't make a trade like that for a luxury pick. Only guys I would be happy(at the moment) with if we did that are Fleener and Kuechly. Who would you wanna get if we traded up? RE: Our draft. - Falcons all the way! - 04-25-2012 04:29 PM (04-25-2012 12:28 AM)TonyGraziani Wrote: You would make this same thread next year. I'm going with Fleener. The guy has that it factor and we can use a TE after TG retires. Fleener is going to be a beast in the NFL. Cordy Glenn OT out of Georgia he would be a nice addition. "Ok" I might be getting a little head of myself with Cordy Glenn because Chad Cilfton and Marcus McNeil is out there in free agency. In other words, we need help on our Oline Badly. RE: Our draft. - ATLBound - 04-25-2012 05:55 PM I pretty sure I heard the Chad Clifton most likely has to retire and end his 12 year (I think its the right number) career RE: Our draft. - Falcons all the way! - 04-25-2012 06:39 PM (04-25-2012 05:55 PM)ATLBound Wrote: I pretty sure I heard the Chad Clifton most likely has to retire and end his 12 year (I think its the right number) career Thanks man. I didn't know that. |
