Clearly Payton and Loomis got off lightly for failing to deal with this matter.

Sick.

Payton and Loomis ordered Williams to stop more than once, but he kept doing it. He even bragged about a 'fuck you' clause in his contract meaning nobody tells him what to do

You seem to forget that Loomis told his staff to get all his ducks in order when the league came to investigate. 3 years, seriously if they didn't want it happening there in order to avoid tarnishing the team. They could have fired him. Suck it up and pay him his remaining salary, but they kept him on.

Use your brain. Are you telling me that Williams bullied the Saints into doing a bounty scheme and now that he finished with them like a used Jizz cloth he is trying to set them up for the fall.

I can tell you now. You will be bitterly disappointed, Loomis and Payton are not that innocent. Pyramid scheme, Vicodin. Wonder what other suspect behaviour they have going on there.

If Williams told the league office that he kept doing the bounties despite being told not to, then he did not throw P&L under the bus. Rather he protected them.

If he told the league office that P&L simply told him not to get caught, but otherwise keep on with the program, then that would be throwing P&L under the bus. I doubt that happened or else P&L would also be under indefinite suspension.

all suspending loomis is gonna do is give him more time to personally scout players =///// just can't fkn win.

First of all it wasn't Loomis that was purported to have said that. It was Payton and it was just a fragment of a sentence. Have you seen the statement used in context of the complete sentence? How about in context of the complete paragraph? No, you haven't.

Yes, I am telling you he bullied the players, he lied to his bosses and, you may not be aware of this fact, but Gregg Williams was fired and had every motive for setting the Saints up for a fall.

Are Payton and Loomis totally innocent? Hell no. They should have never given Williams that sort of autonomy with the defense. They have both admitted to being at blame for letting this all happen under their watch. But, they did not lie to Goodell when they were informed that it was still going on before the Detroit game. They did order Williams to stop then and once again before the 49ers game. Williams was out of control.

You cannot know that unless you know the details of the testimony to the NFL. It is entirely possible that this evidence contradicts statements by Payton, Loomis and/or individual players making matters far worse for them. I can see no scenario where this helps their cause as this is another black eye for the shield and that in and of itself would prevent the NFL from reducing the penalties as that would send out the wrong message.

Payton and Loomis wanted this meeting for the purpose of getting "clarifications" from the league office about the nature of the penalties. What I expect that they will get back is the clear message that they will not be allowed to squirm around these penalties like they squirmed around other league rules. Indeed I expect Benson to get a letter from the NFL stating that he better start acting like a responsible owner or else another one will be found.

Actually I did read the article were that statement was referenced in its wider form. I'm not running around trying to prove it to you though. Fact is you are taking a 6 and making it a 9. You have decided that Williams an employee bullied his franchise bosses into allowing him to do his bidding. It was long reported that Williams would leave a post to pair up with his buddy in St. Louis. Remember it was quite late in the release period of coaches that he moved.

Aaaand in what world is revenge exposing yourself to a world of scrutiny and condemnation. An indefinite ban, all for the purpose of getting Sean Payton a ban for a year and Loomis 8 games.

I'd be intrigued as to what your reasoning would be to all of this if Williams was still working for the Saints.

Anyway I'm done. I'll leave you to play in emotional traffic.

Goodell stated that the severe punishment of Payton and Loomis was based upon his feeling they did not try to stop what was going on when told to by the league. The story by Pamphilon that accompanies this tape states that Williams had lost control. Loomis and Payton told Williams to stop this practice multiple times, yet he continued to do it feeling he was untouchable. It points out that Williams was slated to be fired immediately after the season. His disregard for authority obviously had much to do with this.

This would show Goodell that Williams was out of control.

As for the players, coersion through threats of being cut if they didn't comply would put the onus on Williams and lessen any hit they might have taken.

It was long known in the Saints organization that Williams was going to be fired at the end of the season BEFORE his buddy ever even took over at St. Louis. He was fired immediately after the 49ers game.

Williams had already been caught by the league doing what he was doing. He didn't expose himself at all by turning on the people who ran him off. He was already exposed.
