Union seeks more Saints probe info

"As of yet, they haven't turned over anything that we would consider to be direct evidence of player involvement in a 'pay-to-injure' scheme that we could consider for discipline." - NFLPA chief DeMaurice Smith

The union also has been given copies of two separate confidential reports regarding the investigation that went to all NFL teams, one on March 2 and one last week, the official told ESPN.com.

The information that went into the reports released to teams and the union was much more detailed than what was released to the media, the league official said.

"If there is direct evidence of a 'pay-to-injure' scheme implicating players or anybody involved, we are asking the league to turn over that information.''

------------------------------------------------------

It looks to me like the union isn't going to stand for players being railroaded by Goodell even if he gets away with railroading the front office of the Saints.

Dude, stop F'ing spamming us with your bullshit.

Your Saints and the players are getting a broomstick shoved up their asses no matter how much you deny, lash out, or bargain.

This is beyond boring. The NFL didn't make the story up for the sake of it. It's clear it fucking happened and was going on. Again it's not rail roading it's penalising for conduct contradictory to NFL rules, and the spirit of the NFL also.

This is as retarded as Brees claiming he didn't know. If you genuinely believe that then you are in denial. Just protecting himself.

Fed up of this bullshit.

Just sharing the news, guys. I thought you were looking forward to the media circus? Although, I do suppose it does seem boring as compared to what you may have anticipated.

You would think they could produce even an inkling of actual evidence if everything the media has surmised as having happened actually did happen.

Huh

The union is in a "no win" situation. It is better for them to follow the example of Pontius Pilate and wash their hands of this situation and thereby blame any player suspensions fully on the NFL. That is all that is happening here thus far.

You not read that report? How about the fact the coaches admitted to it?

If coaches say "yeah, there was a pay to injure thing going on, 1/2 of our defense was involved," that clearly means it was going on. It also clearly doesn't point to a single individual as doing it.

They may have trouble getting to the actual players unless Gregg Williams cooperates. All they know now is it happened and probably the whole defense was involved. But they need more than probably. Still clear it happened.

Nobody has read the report. The media was leaked a few speculations. The teams and the union were both given a far more detailed synopsis that, according to the union, still had no evidence of any "pay-to-injure" activity that would warrant punishment to players or anybody else.

The only coach to have admitted to anything has been Gregg Williams. Payton and Loomis took responsibility for whatever happened and Payton said that an email blurb could have been referring to a bounty of sorts, but no coach has admitted anything about a "pay-to-injure" policy. Payton, Loomis and the Saints franchise have taken the hit from Goodell without any real proof of anything, but do not expect the union to stand idly by and watch their constituents get run up the river on a whim.
