Jay Glazer ‏ @JayGlazer

Scoopage: Take 1 name off the list of free agents set to hit the market today. Saints have just agreed to new 5 yr deal w WR Marques Colston

As I mentioned in another thread, today will have plenty of good news for Saints fans. Stay tuned.

Big Grin

No surprise, but the Saints kept Marques Colston. Though he would have been hot as a free agent, he really didn't want to leave.

Also as I mentioned elsewhere, things are far from crumbling in New Orleans.

Cool

Seriously mate get over yourself. Your team fucked up and they will get punished accordingly. If they don't then great their bullshit puts Goodall on the hot seat and I hope he loses his job, after all the grief he has given players and all the player safety advocacy.

Tired of people trying to exonerate this bull shit. 36 mil in cap taken away from Washington and Dallas for going over thresholds... let's see what happens with New Orleans and their sustained and flagrant breach of NFL rules.

I'll be straight, this bullshit goes unpunished properly I ain't watching the NFL. I'll follow Atlanta as best as i can but I ain't doing anything that generates income for this league if they refuse to deal with this properly

Can't argue with anything you said. I am simply pointing out that the Saints are no where close to crumbling and far from any quagmire. While the penalties will be severe, they shouldn't adversely affect the product on the field to any great degree.

We had one guy get busted for hiring a prostitute and it jacked up the heads of an entire team playing in the Superbowl.

Your team is about to lose draft picks, receive huge fines, coaches will likely be suspended from some games, salary cap likely reduced, possibly a few players suspended for some games (if they are incriminated in the thousands of pages of documents), and they will be on some kind of probation with Goodell's eye of scrutiny focused intently on their illegal hits, or the possibility of illegal hits. Not to mention, every interview ANY of your players does this year they will get bombarded with tiresome as fuck questions about "Bounty-gate" and what they think about the punishment that was handed out.

And you have the nerve to sit here and act like you're some psychologist? Like you just KNOW none of that will have an effect on your team? They'll just continue as if nothing happened and in fact play distraction-free elite level football, even better than before because it's them against the world.

You're such a blind homer it's funny. The reality check that's going to smack you in the ballsack is going to be quite entertaining.

I have no doubt that you will be very disappointed in your expectations of the Saints demise.

So if your head coach is suspended for 6 games and can't interact with the team, and your players are missing tackles because they're afraid to get deemed an illegal hit and suspended, and you don't have enough cap space to re-sign Nicks and several other veteran FA's you inteded to re-sign, and your players are at the limits of their frustration levels taking questions from the media, you still KNOW your team will not only be just fine, but better than before.

Right. Like I said... blind homer being an unrealistic blind homer. You have to know you're not being remotely realistic. You can't be that dumb.

My expectations, by the way, are indifferent. I like my team's chances and really don't care to have a less challenging Saints team to play. I'd rather if the Falcons beat them, that there's no possible excuses to fall back on. So truthfully, I hope the punishment isn't as severe as we think.

As I said just wait and see. Come the beginning of the season this will be no more than a side note. Had this surfaced in June or July I would agree on the distraction issue. But that is not the case.
