Class teams that put it all out on the field - ggp - 02-05-2012 11:25 PM
Regardless of who you might have backed in this Super Bowl, we all have to agree that both teams performed at the highest level. No embarrassing botched plays, no gaffs, no blown coverages. These two teams came prepared and fought to the end.
The folks in New England, as well as NYC, have to feel proud.
Kinda makes me feel envious.

Actually, I was thinking it did not look like the best game we could have seen. I think both teams were not the cream of the NFL this year they way they played. The low score was not great D, but bad O.
Both teams and QB's will get too much praise. How NY (and GB last year) can barely get into the playoffs and then be so blindly praised (HOF for Eli talk, ect.) when they were talking about who would be the new coach in Dec is just crazy. The media is always a prisoner of the moment, but they took it too far this week.

eh...Patriots looked like a Falcons team honestly. I guess not quite as bad as playoff Falcons, but regular season, "we're going to find every way possible to lose this game early" Falcons...yeah.

I didn't think either team looked all that great last night. Thats not a shot at either team, but honestly I've seen both teams look much better at different times in the year.

I disagree. I think that both teams played smart football and I saw changes in schematics throughout the game.
The Pats' offense was severely hampered without Gronkowski, but all in all they made the most of what they had. On defense, the Pats kept the play in front of them and suffered few (if any) blown coverages.
The Giants played well on both sides. While the Pats' OL was able to protect Brady well, the Giants still kept Brady under wraps.
I don't want to be a downer, but the truth is that our defense could not have kept pace with either team. There would have been at least three blown coverages on third and long and we would have permitted both teams a thirty point game. Offensively, Ryan would have seen as much pressure as Eli, but would not have been able to make the plays that Eli did. Not a hate on Ryan, just stating the obvious.
