thank you!

and his best asset ain't his knees, he can just plain shadow somebody with no problems...and even if it was, the kid didn't have an ACL tear(something athletes can fully recover from now)...like someone else above me said, this is obviously the "shit on Grimes thread so we feel better when he leaves"...that, and speculation about his knee like he's going to be crippled for the rest of his career.

Thing that gives me hope we will keep him is that there has been no news of a breakdown in contract talks. Just speculation.

This is pretentious bullshit. The NFL is a business and Grimes doesn't owe us anything. He has every right to be paid what he is worth, even if it is not with the Falcons.

All the talk about his minor knee problem is just talk, he did not have major surgery and it likely won't affect his abilities. The concern of his age is slightly more understandable, as is the reasoning behind why he didn't play against the Giants, or possibly even how publicly open his wife is about football matters.

What is not understandable is beating down and degrading our own players because they might find opportunities elsewhere. Grimes had a great year and has done amazingly well as our starting CB for a number of years. Look, I am the last person to be "pro players" in terms of contracts, rules, or criticism regarding the level of play expected from professional athletes; but if anyone deserves to be paid for their production the past few years, it is Brent Grimes.

I certainly hope we keep him, but there are some issues that have to be worked out for that to happen. Seeing people bash the best corner on our team and a genuinely positive influence for our franchise, based on the fear of not having him in our secondary, is just fucking ridiculous.

What worries me about Grimes.

If this procedure he had wasn't a big deal, then why'd it take him the full healing time + some to recover?

He came in, played a few Downs and then was done.

Speculate all you want but that procedure took its toll on him.

And, teams don't pay for past performance, they reward it with potential future performance.

Wasn't his choice. Grimes was told to sit out by Mike Smith. So the big question is why did Mike Smith sit out Grimes? A player can't overrule the head coach reguardless if Grimes suspected to play.

Do we actually know this? I haven't seen where this had been revealed one way or the other, hence the speculation.

grimes done good for himself that's what corners do in the nfl. next time hopefully if we don't re-sign him we can get something in return.
