You obviously didn't see the stats from that game. Big Ben had 3 picks including a pick 6. Garrard was a nightmare, 140 yds, 1 TD, 2 INTs. That was all Defense.

doesn't matter how you get it aslong as you get it.

This isn't a rebuild this is an established team and we are expecting someone who has literally done nothing in big games to get us over the top. It's a stupid, unnecessary, shortsighted risk.

I hope I'm dead wrong, and I will be he first to admit I was, but it's how I feel. We blew an opportunity to go to the next level.

What about the Philbin example? The two OCs that preceeded him were responsible for 13 straight non-losing seasons, including ten playoff appearances, two NFC Championships and a Super Bowl win. Plus, well... it's Green Bay. The Super Bowl trophy itself is named after one of their own.

No expectations?

Should go back and read Packers fans comments when they hired him, they said he's a capable coach... at maybe Temple. They also called him the most incompetent offensive doofus in football. Kind of funny, the reactions of the fans.
The Packers were coming off of a 4-12 season with B. Favre about to retire, they had a few years to use on a chance at HC. We have a short window of opportunity to get to the SB, dont have the time to take a chance on someone. I hope DK turns out to be a good additions, but like most of Smiths decisions over the last few years this is likely to turn out to be a mistake.

That Jags team was 7th in total offense and 6th in scoring for the season. You can't just cherry pick stats from one game. Why not acknowledge that the Jags' offense still hung 24 points on the Steelers' defense, which was #1 in the league that year?

From where did this bullshit notion originate, anyway?

The only short window of opportunity belongs to Mike Smith. If his team is not competitive in the post season next year, he's possibly gone. You think he is staking his career on a long shot?

Yeah, give a retard a bottle of glue and sooner or later something will stick.

Its the nature of the NFL, you are not going to constantly be one of the top teams in the NFL (top 3), most teams have a 3-5 year window when they have the right coaching and personnel before the staff starts to get picked apart and you start having turnover at positions due to retirement, FA and cap.

The only team that has really defied this is the Patriots, and that because they have a HOF QB and a HOF coach that does amazing things with no name players. But even with those they haven't won it all since 2005. if Smith goes, TD might go as well. Roddy has peaked, Gonzo will be gone, Turner peaked in 2008, we have too much dead weight on defense.

I'd like to say we have a great QB that we can constantly build around but that has yet to be proven. As it stands, if we don't win in the playoffs in the next year or two its going to be time to clean house.

Thanks for the article. Smile

As for this other nonsense: negative, pessimistic douchebaggery. I am not even going to honor this negative bullshit with a reply. Its so transparent that anyone with sense can see right through it.

I must have missed that 3-5 year window slamming shut on the Packers, Steelers, Ravens, Eagles and Colts over the last decade. So the Saints are in rebuilding mode next year, I take it? This last season was already Payton's sixth year.
