You guys are ridiculous. Yes, he is an unimpressive hire given the names that were linked to us, but he had the leagues leading rusher, he used him out of the back field, all things that our fans wanted from Mularkey. He had THE WORST receiving corp in the league. Get over it and give the guy his chance with some actual talent. No way he was number 1 on our list if he didn't have something to bring to the table.

If Koetter was even remotely worth a shit, he would have done the same with Garrard and Gabbert.

Sometimes a shit hire is just a shit hire, and this certainly qualifies in my opinion. No idea how the fanbase is supposed to get excited about a hire like this.

the niners have ALOT of unrealized talent on that team, or had till harbaugh came along.. vernon davis is a fucking freak bro, i'd cum in a 2 if we got that guy. he's a bigger julio.

So what your saying is, a new coach brought the best of out the players.

I'm waiting to see what Koetter can do. He does alot of things we've all been screaming for years:

Better route design
Uses RBs out of the backfield
Vertical offense
Screens & Slants

I knew that Harbaugh would turn things around. I actually was hoping to fire Mularkey and land him here.

Yes, a good coach who was wildly successful everywhere he had been brought the best out of his players.

If only that's what we were getting. sigh

Yeah in hindsight, but I did make a thread about it on OB early last year about the same time.

We are talking about a playoff push, not rebuilding anymore Neck! This isn't a joke. This guy sucks! I played against better in HS! You talk about knowing what plays will be run from one play to the next? He makes Mularkey look like a frickin genius!
KOG, in 2007, Dirk's first year as OC, Koetter led Garrard and Fred Taylor to a 6th ranked offense. Also 6th in scoring. Garrard had 18 TDs and 3 INTs in the regular season. They beat the Steelers in the playoffs 31-29, so there is some playoff experience on a winning team.

Jacksonville has never had a legitimate receiving threat either, lets face it.

I am not sure how I feel about the the four verticals. Would like some timed routes with a 3 step drop but either way we need a new offensive line. Our line needs to be able to block long enough for the routes to develop.

TD better fix the trenches if we want to succeed on offense and give Koetter an opportunity to succeed as well.

Okay, in Mularkey's first year he was a beast as well.
