Falcons prepared to move on without Grimes - Toronto_Dirty_Bird - 01-13-2012 05:56 PM Link Quote:Falcons prepared to move on without Grimes well, I didn't see this coming. Has Franks really showed enough that he can be a starter on this defense? RE: Falcons prepared to move on without Grimes - atljbo - 01-13-2012 06:07 PM I hope it wouldnt get to this but i cant lie.. I kind of seen this coming.. I hope things change RE: Falcons prepared to move on without Grimes - illmusic - 01-13-2012 06:09 PM that would really more fully define TD's biggest mistake since coming here...that Dunta contract. I'm not going to get into it.. But if we let Grimes go... I think it will have to do with more then just purely the money... ill just say that I hope things change but if we can get an DE (Mario Williams) with that money... ill be ok with that RE: Falcons prepared to move on without Grimes - illmusic - 01-13-2012 06:14 PM (01-13-2012 06:12 PM)atljbo Wrote: I'm not going to get into it.. That is what I got out of this article or that Grimes didn't want to play injured because it was the final year of his contract. If the latter is the case then no matter how much I/we love the guy that doesn't show any heart. Both scenarios don't feel great about the future. With that being said, if we retain him then I wouldn't be upset. And I agree Franks and Owens showed much better skills the last few games of the season including the playoff game. RE: Falcons prepared to move on without Grimes - papachaz - 01-13-2012 06:18 PM maybe it's just me, but grimes didn't seem to really have the kind of year this year he did last year. he missed a lot of picks that the last few years we've grown accustomed to seeing him make. this doesn't surprise me, and honestly, it doesn't seem AT THE MOMENT to be upsetting me all that much. maybe this would indicate we're going to go to a more 'bump and run' type cover, and as good as he is with his UPS, he just isn't big enough to play bump with most of the bigger receivers in the league RE: Falcons prepared to move on without Grimes - phocis850 - 01-13-2012 06:36 PM He's to short for the money he wants. Jimmy Graham proved that. RE: Falcons prepared to move on without Grimes - phocis850 - 01-13-2012 06:45 PM BTW, this essentially means that we should have traded him last year and got something out of him. Now it's my understanding that he is free to roam and we get zero in return.
