If he doesn't get one of those HC jobs, he still won't be back with the Falcons. I agree RE: Brian VanGorder has accepted the defensive coordinator job at Auburn University. - raysnill1 - 01-09-2012 04:21 PM (01-09-2012 04:15 PM)JRid Wrote: I assume Smitty has known this for awhile and already has some guys in mind. Does anybody think Jack Del Rio is his first option? I'd rather have Mel Tucker before Del Rio. but I'm hoping that TD is doing all he can to get Mike Nolan. with our undersized linemen & the speed of our LBs, he could be a godsend. he has a knack for making defenses better RE: Brian VanGorder has accepted the defensive coordinator job at Auburn University. - falconfanest1989 - 01-09-2012 04:22 PM (01-09-2012 03:44 PM)DemBirds Wrote: The fuck? RE: Brian VanGorder has accepted the defensive coordinator job at Auburn University. - mdrake34 - 01-09-2012 04:22 PM BTW, to clarify, I'm glad he's gone from the Falcons. He was the lesser of two evils than Mularkey and would have been fine with just Mularkey going. However, in addition to suffering the past 3 years through his vanilla soft zone defenses, I've also suffered during the same 3 year period of time from Ted Roof's vanilla soft zone defenses at Auburn. I was all excited about getting an aggressive, innovative DC at Auburn and now I see this. I can't imagine why anybody would still be giving Roof jobs. That guy has sucked in every coaching capacity he has had in his entire career. You should be happy. Pay that man whatever he wants... RE: Brian VanGorder has accepted the defensive coordinator job at Auburn University. - JRid - 01-09-2012 04:29 PM This is definitely going to be a different team next year. New DC, new OC(zero chance Mularkey is back), and we have a lot of free agents and needs. Is Les Snead still being considered for GM by some teams? Also, another guy on the staff was being looked at as a GM. I can't remember his name right now. TD and Smitty have their hands full. I thought last year they had a lot of work with re-signing and signing guys, etc.., but this year is for real. |
