Last year, in the first playoff game for the Falcons, the Falcons defense didn't force a single punt, as they had just about as bad a defensive performance as you can have. Certainly the worst of the year.

Seriously? We have to have our absolute worst games of the season, utterly horrible, in the playoffs? This is a sign of uber conservative coaching. Freeze up and try to play mistake free. It's so ugly.

After today I think we had no business being in the playoffs in the first place. There must be a dozen teams who could have done better than we did.

It shows consistency.
When it comes to big games the offense completely shuts down. Also, other than the Baltimore game, this team is never prepared for a big game. We've been consistently out coached.

after we lost to houston, i mentioned how we resembled the bucs from last year. beating losing teams, not beating winning teams. that in my opinion, we didn't deserve to be in the playoffs. i got blasted of course with 'our record says we do'.
I wish i had the answer, but a new OC is probably gonna be the first move we make. i also think player wise there will be some surprises. i personally agree with Knight of God and Supes thoughts that there are some position coaches that need to be flipping burgers or something....

Papa, there were plenty of people vocalizing the weaknesses of the team, but even the worst critic couldn't have predicted a 2-24 loss. We got smoked.

No kidding. I was skeptical about whether our OL could hold up against the pass rush, but I expected us to be able to run the ball on them well enough to slow JPP, Tuck, Osi, etc. down. Pass blocking ended up being the least of our problems though, and the pass blocking was far from stellar. It was just a total clusterfuck. Heads should roll, but I'm sure everyone will be retained in order to maintain continuity in the coaching staff or some other such bullshit.
