This would still fall squarely on Mularkey's shoulders. A good OC will have a plethera of screen plays in his arsenal/playbook. And then it takes coaching it, working on it in practice, preaching it to your QB and installing them into your gameplan and check/audible plays. I believe this is just a preference thing with Mularkey. I don't believe he likes screen plays. And that bothers me a lot, because the guy hasn't installed anything else to successfully help Ryan out of pressure packages.

And this is just part of the point I keep making. If we had the capability to run screens effectively, and we proved it on the field, we would run them more. Mularkey can't make our offensive linemen and receivers not miss blocks. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. People need to get it through their heads that after a point, it's up to the paid professionals who put on the pads to actually go out there and make it work.

as far as helping Ryan with the rush, our line looks like a 40 sack line, I don't think we've exceeded 30 with this rag tag group of guys...and this is all while being in the higher ranks in pass attempts the last two years. I'd like screens, but let's not act like Mularkey hasn't installed an offensive game plan that has kept Ryan on his feet for his whole career. He takes hits, but we were busting Vick and Cutler wide open when they ran screens and both Reid and Martz are known for good-great screen games...i really don't think mularkey is not running screens because he doesn't like them
