A WR cost us the game, but it wasn't Roddy - Hit Stick - 11-15-2011 10:19 AM

Eric Weems screwed this team all over the field on Sunday, literally costing the team nearly 100 yards of field position in penalties, poorly timed fair catches, and even more poorly timed non fair catches. This guy is regressing massively.

i totally agree, will surprise me if weems makes the team next year with all the salary issues we have. i've hated his idea of what should/shouldn't be caught for the last few years. yes he's a tough lil dude, but he's NOT the fastest guy we have for returning kicks at all

I just want Weems field the damn ball. His judgment this year with punts flat out sucks.

If I were Smitty, I'd tell him no more just letting it bounce. Fair catch the damn thing and we'll deal.

I understand that Weems more than likely falls under keith Armstrong's jurisdiction, but considering the inconsistent play of our recieving corps, (and nonexistent play of Meier) I'm starting to wonder if Robiskie's job is in jeopardy.

I dunno I think we got to see what comes of Douglas and Meier, even Jones, because Douglas is showing out but he is not getting enough of the ball. Meier every year seems to impress, and every year he shows out in preaseason. Why he is not on the field I don't know. It pisses me off, but perhaps the plan for him is long term.

We should try Franks or Douglas back there.

I personally agree with you. Seriously Douglas has so much unused potential its been pissing me off, and now that he has shown it, he better get the ball even more.

This.

Isn't Weems' contract up at the end of the year? Time to see what some of these other cats can do splitting time with Weems on returns.

Franks shows some flashes returning punts back in preseason.

I doubt if Smitty let HD returns kicks though. We're already thin at WR position, White not preforming the same level he did last year, Julio has hamstring issue. We need HD to be as healthy as he can be.
