Well it's just stupid. I've even been a little upset with the helmet to helmet call on defenders from other teams last season, and some of this season. It's just getting a little ridiculous. You can't penalize a defender who is going to make a LEGAL hit, and a receiver putting their head into it. That's dumb. If I seen this call week in and week out, and I was an offensive coach, I would be TEACHING my receivers to put their head down after the catch and induce the helmet to helmet. Because that's what would get me big yards. It might get you injured, but hell, who cares. You're in it to win it.

At some point, it just gets ridiculous! The NFL needs to take the diapers back off these players. They are grown men. They know what they are doing out there. They know the risk of the game when they sign that big multi-million dollar contract to play.

Being vindictive is getting someone back that has done something to you personally. It didn't matter who came across middle, he just wanted to hit someone, anyone. Thats frustration due to his own failure.

Can you show some evidence of this so-called "failure" you speak of?

Stop fuckin crying.

I've watched him time and time again being out of position. He's plays way too far off his man resulting in easy pitch and catch. I'am not the first person on the MB to mention that and won't be the last as long he continues to play that way. There's plenty other people on this thread that are complaining. Why do you think this thread is about Dunta? huh, so it looks like you have to tell a lot of people to quit crying. If you want to continue turning a blind eye then there's nothing I can do to convince you, like you havn't ever complained about someone on this team.

Word. He did well against one of the best receivers in the NFL.

This thread was made because of the hit on Maclin.

And in case you hadn't figured out the obvious, BVG has our secondary playing a soft zone. It's not Dunta's fault he's 5 yards off the line and sometimes looks out of place.

You're sitting here complaining about Dunta when he actually had a very good game. And last year he was way better than you're trying to portray him too. Some how, PFF seems to think Dunta is a pretty damn good corner. Maybe it's the huge amounts of actual stats they gather and video they watch. They tend to be a bit more credible than you.

Last year Dunta was one of the better corners in the league in terms of keeping wide receivers at bay. I'm not sure why everyone complains about him constantly. He hasn't got a slew of interceptions, or very many at all, but thats because he is simply stopping receivers.

It was generally Grimes on Jackson in that game...

Havn't noticed that Grimes plays that far off his man and he's usually in good position too. I don't suppose you saw that sideline pass on Dunta's side, did you? If you had, then you would have noticed the huge cushion the reciever had when he caught the ball, but I guess that didn't count. Whatta bout when he over persuied the reciever on that short pass to his side and slipped down while the reciever ran downfield. I guess that didn't count either. A couple times the camera panned over at Dunta and he looked absolutly lost. If you didn't see it, you wern't looking. Pay attention and learn something or maybe you can just ask some of these credible people and I'am sure they will fill you in.

look, I would like to stick around and debate this issue, but I gotta run, catch you laterWink

RE: Dunta Robinson - mcsupersport - 09-19-2011 03:29 PM

The sad thing is he hit the guy with his shoulder and clipped the bottom of the facemask with the top/back of his helmet. If Dunta keeps his helmet up it is a full face to face collision that probably gives both concussions. If Dunta squares up to tackle then it is a chest to chest face to face collision since the receiver was hunching down and about to curl protectively. The only way you can really stop that collision from being bad is to stop them from tackling the receiver over the middle. You say he is launching and maybe he was, but it simply could have been Dunta trying to go down and get into the chest area, which I have to ask how would you go low while running almost full out and still take a collision at the end??

I have watched the full sequence a bunch of times at different angles, and you can see Dunta trying to duck the head below the receivers head and rolling the shoulder forward so his shoulder hits first bracing himself for a very violent collision.
