Interesting Article on Musgrave's "Predictable" offense in Minnesota - Paulitik - 09-17-2011 08:56 AM Link I guess he hasn't washed the Mularkey stank off yet. Quote:Musgrave says Vikings offense will take more shots Sound familiar? Eerily familiar/ Say what you want about McNabb, but even in Washington he threw it deep a lot. At least Musgrave took responsibility and didn't say "I don't know what you mean". It takes Musgrave one freaking game what Mularkey hasn't figured out in 4 years. RE: Interesting Article on Musgrave's "Predictable" offense in Minnesota - Radical - 09-17-2011 10:24 AM 2002, the last time he had a team that has even decent amounts of talent on offense, was a year his QB had a Top 5 YPA and two 1,300 yard WRs. I'd call that an outlier, more likely a fluke. Pitt got in a lot of shootouts that year. Including a crazy game where we tied them. RE: Interesting Article on Musgrave's "Predictable" offense in Minnesota - Peyton - 09-17-2011 11:13 AM Minnesota is in a world of shit. Musgrave is a horrible coordinator, and McNabbi is an even worse QB. Gonna be a long long year in Minnesota. The Falcons have a top 5 WR, HOF TE, top 5 RB, Pro Bowl RT, and the allegedly the best young QB in the league. At what point are the Falcons going to qualify as having a "decent amount of talent" on offense? That's the only productive passing offense he's ever had. Matt Ryan is ten times the QB Tommy Maddox ever was. Look, I'm not on the "fire Mularkey" bandwagon, I just want him to pull his head out of his ass. Why are you so protective of him? RE: Interesting Article on Musgrave's "Predictable" offense in Minnesota - Peyton - 09-17-2011 11:48 AM A person can make the "Mularkey isn't the problem" argument, and a person can make the "Ryan isn't the problem" argument, but a person can't make both of those arguments. The offense is regressing and one of those guys is the reason why. RE: Interesting Article on Musgrave's "Predictable" offense in Minnesota - Paulitik - 09-17-2011 11:54 AM (09-17-2011 11:48 AM)Peyton Wrote: A person can make the "Mularkey isn't the problem" argument, and a person can make the "Ryan isn't the problem" argument, but a person can't make both of those arguments. Teams have figured out that our offense needs the run to survive. We don't run the routes or the 3-4 Wide Receiver sets enough to get the most out of the passing attack. We need to evolve, but instead of that, we go back to 1970s power run game, then when we get behind, we're screwed. Matt Ryan can call the plays, but he's not writing the script. Matt needs to be given the leeway to make mistakes and not be reigned in if he makes one. The Ravens game proves when Matt is given the reigns, we prosper. We need to give him some quick strike plays to call. |
