Several teams call the Eagles about Kevin Kolb - Dyoshot - 09-22-2010 02:58 PM Link The Philadelphia Eagles have received numerous calls about the availability of quarterback Kevin Kolb from several teams, according to a senior team official. "We have had calls," the team official said Wednesday. One of the teams to contact the Eagles about Kolb was the Cleveland Browns, whose general manager is Tom Heckert. Heckert was the Eagles' GM before taking over in the same capacity with Cleveland before this season. When asked Wednesday whether Kolb would be on the Eagles' roster after the Oct. 19 trade deadline, Eagles coach Andy Reid said, "Listen, I can't predict anything down that far, nobody in this league can do that." Kolb has missed the past six quarters because of a concussion, and Michael Vick played well in his absence. Kolb was cleared to practice and was expected to run the first-team offense Wednesday. However, on Tuesday night, Vick was named the Eagles' starting quarterback, with Reid saying, "When someone is playing at the level Michael Vick is playing, you have to give him an opportunity." Vick came on in relief of Kolb after Kolb suffered a concussion in a 27-20 season-opening loss to Green Bay. Vick threw for 175 yards and one touchdown and ran for 103 yards, and last Sunday he passed for 284 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' victory over the Detroit Lions. If the Eagles are interested, I do find it very strange they are ready to give up on Kolb after one bad half against a very good defense. Plus, that's bad for your QB depth to let him go if you're the Eagles. RE: Several teams call the Eagles about Kevin Kolb - Jesus - 09-22-2010 03:01 PM I wonder how bad his concussion is. RE: Several teams call the Eagles about Kevin Kolb - AtlantaFalconPokerPro - 09-22-2010 03:02 PM If they were dumb enough to trade McNabb to s division rival then they'll trade Kolb. Andy Reid is in the process of digging his grave. RE: Several teams call the Eagles about Kevin Kolb - TomBradyMVP12 - 09-22-2010 03:03 PM They shouldn't move him. Once Vick comes down to earth and plays a bad or mediocre game everyone will be calling for Kolb to step in. Andy Reid is in the process of digging his grave. I agree. I'm not even trying to hate on Vick. I'm just saying that if Reid gets rid of Kolb it's a mistake. The oline is struggling, meaning whoever is back there is going to take some shots. If I'm not mistaken, Vick took six sacks against DET. You would think he would not want to hurt his QB depth and trade Kolb away. If they do Mike Kafka becomes the backup and that's VERY risky. He looked like the Mike Vick everyone was hoping he would be one day but didn't he get sacked like 5 or 6 times? He still holds the ball with one hand when scrambling which makes him a fumbling machine. RE: Several teams call the Eagles about Kevin Kolb - Peyton - 09-22-2010 03:22 PM Not wanting to hate on Vick but we've all seen this movie before. How many times did we see a game and go, "Wow, Vick's got it now. He can read defenses, make the throw on time, put the ball where he wants it", There was the Miami game and the Cincinnati game and the Dallas game and the Broncos game and the Steelers game a bunch of different games where we said to ourselves "Wow, the light just went on". Then, it would seemingly go out the next week. So...I think the Eagles would be making a mistake if they went "all in" on Vick after one good start against the Lions. RE: Several teams call the Eagles about Kevin Kolb - Same Ol Falcons - 09-22-2010 03:25 PM The Eagles ought to call Dallas - They can probably trade Kolb to them for Stephen McGee - Then they can trade DeSean Jackson to the Giants for Zak DeOssie RE: Several teams call the Eagles about Kevin Kolb - Dyoshot - 09-22-2010 03:25 PM (09-22-2010 03:22 PM)Peyton Wrote: Not wantint to hate on Vick but we've all seen this movie before. Yup, all it takes is just a team going back and dusting off those old Bucs, Eagles, and Panthers games when he was with us. The only time this is a good move is if it's in Madden.
