ETA: Belicheck is one of the only coaches with the rings, lockerroom support, and ownership support that could get away with cutting pro-bowlers for those reasons.

The fact that Meriweather is a Pro Bowl player says more about how worthless the Pro Bowl is for being about the best players than it does Meriweather.

So Patriots sign guys like Big Al, and Ocho then cut Meriweather because he "freelances." I bet the talking heads will be all over this talking about how big a genious BB is. The only coach who can do whatever he wants and look like a genious. Until there draft picks prove something the Raiders won the Seymour trade the Pats pass rush has not been the same without him.

i watched the hardknocks 10 year show last night. ocho and bellichick have always had a good relationship. showed them talking shit to each other before the game, bellichick was telling him about the defense they were gonna run called double 85.

No problem with Chad. The precision of is routes has been analyzed a lot though. Especially in recent years. He was reportedly cutting off routes to early or too late in the Bengals offense. Hayneworth has problems with gap responsibilty. Both make plays because of these things and both make allow big plays for the ther team for the same reasons. Some times on the field they are wild cards. Haynesworth like a lot of big men is not seem to have a highmotor.
When we cut 2 rounders like Houston an Jimmy people dogged Rich. BB just cut a first and a 3rd who were questionable picks and noone will say a word.
